For those blaming this win on the umpires, consider that Watson would have kicked 10+ goals if he was given a free every time he was illegally held. GWS lucky to get within 60 by that measure.

Amazing reversal of momentum, 7 in a row to GWS, relinquished the lead and kicking into the win, but dug deep from that point to bring it home. Inspirational stuff.

If people had the ability to be properly neutral, it would be fascinating if they swapped places for a day. I'd have every opposition fan put themselves in a swans supporters shoes and watch a swans game commentated by Brian Taylor. Barracks for the oppo, sounds like he wants to neck himself when the swans get on top. And they'd be absolutely ****ing fuming with what Heeney cops without receiving the free kicks other big name mids do.

I'm an AFL member so went to quite a few games this year as a complete neutral where I did not care who won.

It really puts into perspective how comically biased everyone is - screaming and carrying on at the umps for something that I could see was perfectly reasonable and sensible.

And it has helped me try to approach all games with a more open mind.

Hawthorn stone motherless last on the all time free kick differential ladder.

GWS second last overall (second last for home ground advantage, with Hawthorn last for home ground advantage).

Of the teams that still exist, the top two advantaged teams are Dogs and Eagles.

This season we've done ok, in third place for frees, with Bombers and Lions ahead of us. GWS second last. But before then, you have to go back to 2018 to find a season where we were in the top 8 of the competition for free kick differential. Haters gonna hate though.
