STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Can we just take a minute to realise how lucky we are to have the devs of the actual game chat to us here? Answering questions and addressing complaints and concerns, that is awesome. Appreciate your work BigAntStudios

We are very lucky to have BigAntStudios on here. All the more reason to keep our discussions polite and reasonable ;)
 
Argh, that sucks. Seems like just so many inconsistencies in this game at the moment for no real rhyme-or-reason.

Just to be clear, Ross selectively answers questions and it’s literally their job to fix issues, given the state the game launched in.

Could you imagine if they didn’t or kept radio silence?

Regardless of that, having the dev come on here answering questions is more than you'd get with most or every other game dev in my experience.
 
BigAntStudios is there going to be a focus on online stability over the next few days? A part from crashes I find at times I still don’t feel completely in control (in comparison to Live 1). It is the best online experience we have had since Live 1, but with Pro Team coming in I would assume online connection will be a focus

Would love a ball marker on the ground, so it’s easier to see the path of the ball. I know there’s the ball trail which is a nice alternative but the ball marker would make tracking so much easier
 
Can i ask why ground like Ikon Park aren’t in the custom match settings to select, Will be a good addition to be able to select them for preseason games in comps.

Could this be addressed soon?
 
Are interchanges cooked still or do they make sense? Used to hate how the auto interchange in previous games would throw players in the most ridiculous spots. BigAntStudios might be worth implementing a second position for players to reflect the flexibility of modern players and guide interchange.

Agree with this, playing on side camera it's almost impossible to tell if an on the run shot is on target and often have to rely on the goal umpire/commentator to work out if it was a goal or point. Also can't recall an AFL game that doesn't notify you who has kicked a point/goal with some sort of hud display. Here you have to work out which player has scored from a cutscene.

Probably best not to assume anything at this point. Given the amount of complaints re: online experiences with constant connection issues, freezing and there’s still been no improvements.

I actually enjoy not having one when the on-the-run shots are flying through… bit of an unknown and have to wait to see what the result is.
 
Game needs plenty of work still, AI kicking inside 50 either CHF marks it or gets it to ground and they always pounce on the lose ball first and kick a goal, over and over again, need tactics bad throw numbers behind the ball etc

Because it’s frustrating and boring how scripted the plays are. Same every time

I can finally say that yesterdays patch did improve difficulty slightly. Played 2 games on hardest, both were considerably harder. Spent a lot of time losing or with the lead constantly switching in both games but eventually ran over the top of both teams and won both by 6+ goals.

Lots of improvement still needed in management mode, the depth is just not there but gameplay is getting better
