PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Hello. Perhaps you've been here before. Perhaps you haven't. If you haven't, here's what you need to know: these threads have a long history of being dumpster fires. For that reason, we take a much stricter approach to moderation than we otherwise do.

What is okay:
  • Heated debate / disagreement
  • Criticising the game / developers
  • Praising the game / developers
  • General shit talk

What is not okay:
  • Personal attacks / name calling / abuse / criticising the person rather than the argument / game
  • Repeating the same thing over and over and over and over (and over) to push an agenda or attempt to dominate the thread

We will not hesitate to permanently thread ban you if you are taking too much of our time.

I don’t know. One of the shortest players in the competition taking a specky over Ben McKay is pretty accurate.
Why not, Corey Durdin leapt over Sam De Koning last week.

Ahhh broken street dates give me serious nostalgia. Make it happen
These are a thing of the past aren't they given majority of games need internet connection for update straight away?

I do remember the days when I got ps3 games and you could just walk into Target or Kmart and get AFL Premiership 2004 for example off the shelf because the kids working had no idea about street dates.

Bizarre how the majority of the ACTUAL marketing of this game has just been handed off to one bloke though
One random dude who is, no offence, only really known on this and the BA forum. It's incredibly bizarre. This cycle is even more deceptive than the AFL 23 cycle, which is so worrying.

Other cool feature, don’t have to stand the mark.

This is positive. Was one of my biggest bugbears when 23 would take control from me, and forcing me to stand the mark was one of the main scenarios where that would happen. So we might have an actual ... Interactive videogame this time? 🤔

Interactivity: Now a cool feature! 💪

If he had even the tiniest amount of self-deprecation, clunkily shoehorning "irrefutable industry data" into the commentary would be an all-time power move.

I'm tipping ... Collingwood
I disagree. Irrefutable industry data suggests ... The Magpies

I'm just imagining Huddo's increasing excitement as someone kicks a ripper from deep in the pocket:

"Don't tell me. Don't tell me. You can't kick it from there. Irrefutable industry data says that is impossible, but he's done it! What a goal!!!"

You said it was impossible Huddo!

I never said that! I never said that! Bye!

And you don't hear the co-commentator for the rest of the game 👀

Yep where’s the massive launch party with all the AFL players and Ross bragging how amazing the game is going to be like there was with AFL 23?

There’s been literally nothing but a few screenshots and some recreated clips thrown together in a trailer posted by the AFL FB & insta pages. That’s been their whole promotion. Unless there is something huge doing over the next couple days in regards to a launch party then I’m happy to eat my words but honestly what a flop of a promo..

In regards to seeing some gameplay tonight from Michaels, if they’ve been so secretive about withholding footage honestly how much do you really think they will allow him to post 2 days before release..

Well, last time they over promised and under delivered (hell, at that launch party Ross, on camera, confirmed player career mode 🙃)

This time they've done nothing so when they deliver nothing, it's all good!

I'd only want commentary if Dermott Brereton did it again, his smart alec comedic comments had me in stitches.

So let me get this straight:

They lost all consumer confidence by releasing a terrible game, and now, two days out from the sequel, have released nothing to try and win back the trust of those customers

Getting the yearly EA Sports title a week and a half early due to copies arriving before the date was cool.

Didn't really experience strict embargos. I know one of my local EBs and a Kmart in the same shopping centre got in strife because they sold Gears of War 2 early.
