A reminder before this game's alleged release.

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Hello. Perhaps you've been here before. Perhaps you haven't. If you haven't, here's what you need to know: these threads have a long history of being dumpster fires. For that reason, we take a much stricter approach to moderation than we otherwise do.

What is okay:
  • Heated debate / disagreement
  • Criticising the game / developers
  • Praising the game / developers
  • General shit talk

What is not okay:
  • Personal attacks / name calling / abuse / criticising the person rather than the argument / game
  • Repeating the same thing over and over and over and over (and over) to push an agenda or attempt to dominate the thread

We will not hesitate to permanently thread ban you if you are taking too much of our time.

In the wise, wise words of Jasper Beardsley:

From Twistie’s twitter. Yay…….

It's incredible that their marketing to the point of 1 week to go is just to drop tiny morsels in random places and hope people find them. Is this video game marketing or orienteering?

Dorito basically summed it up on his Twitter.

We know it's par for the course now but I seriously don't understand it. It's like they're trying to become the biggest band in the world by playing secret gigs in underground clubs only and promoting the shows under a pseudonym band name.

It's so sad to see how far they've fallen, from the days of public playtesting to fine tune the game before release, to keeping all information as top secret and only letting YouTubers get a tiny glimpse a couple of days before release and expecting them to be the marketing.

All new marking and bumping. Ok, put out a 30 second clip. Would it kill you?

"Ah but people will just shit on it."

So? It's a video game. Not even EA, 2K, Rockstar can put out video game content without the toxic edgelords shitting on it. They weren't buying it anyway. It might also convince 100 people that what you're promising is true?

No developer that was proud of the game they were bringing out has ever kept it under wraps this much. Look at Mario Kart, 15 minute direct on that game alone. F1 25, Borderlands 4, here's 15 minutes of gameplay of games coming in a few months.

AFL 26. Here's some screenshots a week ahead of time. Where? **** you, find it yourself peasant.

I think the biggest issue with their forum is that JNT gives pretty much 0 information. I'm not saying it's his fault, but would have thought the idea is to communicate meaningfully with the community and what I see there is just someone deleting posts, criticising people for being abusive, but ignoring any questions about the game(s). What's the point?
I've politely asked a few times if Academy creations will be transferrable. No acknowledgement of it even being asked.

But as soon as someone mentions getting posts deleted it's "I don't delete posts without reason", "on topic posts won't be deleted", etc.

Like, maybe ignore those guys and communicate with the people actually asking about the game? Is Academy content being transferrable really that big of a secret that needs to be kept under wraps?

Twiste3 has definitely become more partial in recent times. Good to see.

Yeah posts are either deleted or ignored. If someone whose post has been deleted complains, the response is "ask nicely" or "I'll keep deleting your posts no matter how many accounts you create" And look if someone is being personally abusive or pulling a Ross and doxxing someone, then fair enough.

But if another poster asks something nicely, the post is ignored.

So what's the point?

It’s too difficult for them; anyone have the guts to buy it on day one?
Nope. Waiting for reviews on this one.

I was one who pre-ordered '23 back in the day, so....
