This is the first time I've ever seen any more of this match than the all-important goal. The conditions obviously made it scrappy, but geeze both teams were honest as blazes.

I'd almost forgotten what Lokan looked like, I HAD forgotten that the Dutchman used to have a mo.

Pert's run from defence, shoving the ball along to the wing in the second the quarter, almost gives him Primus status!

Mork's coathanger was a beaty, if unruly, and a couple of the goals were sensational.

Couldn't think of a better way to spend my Saturday

Since I didn't really get into footy till about 1988/89, I had never seen this game before.......LOVED it!!!!!

I agreee Mobben, it was a tad scrappy, but it was soooooooooo worth getting up after 4 hours sleep to watch!!!!!!

lioness, did you notice that many of the big names from both sides were often unsighted, and probably because they were drawn to play on each other. Roos/Merrett for instance, they seems to almost completely nullify one another.

And geeze, don't worry about Micky Conlan, especially considering the moment of glory was his. But didn't Ossie have a dirty day!

I sent it off a day later than expected, sorry about that. Hope you enjoy it.

Kev - yes, I did notice the way the big names nullified each other in the contests, I like when that happens, not sure why. Guess I just prefer it to the 'star player' running rings around some poor kid. It's more of a battle of skills, and I find that WAY more appealing.
