Belco absolutely outplayed the Tigers.
They knew they wouldn't win too many ruck taps and sharked the work of Dicko and DJ beautifully all day.
Belco worked about 10 times harder all day, they seemed to have extra numbers at every contest.
Tigers backline (and poor goal kicking) keep the scores a lot closer for a lot longer than it should have been.
Belco mids outran and out numbered the Tigers, (wanted it a bit more).
Belco backline were prepared to leave their man to help in the air and on the ground and then just ran to support.
Not in any way shape or form did the umps make a difference but they really must be looked at and tried to improve, a classic example was in the final term Belco (32) went to sidestep inside and tripped on his own feet and was paid a free, no Tiger within 2 metres of him! They seem to pay what they think they see and not what happens. They guess too often because they aren't in the right spots.
Again I repeat they were not the reason but it didn't help. Belco supports would probably say the say about some of the frees Qbn got as well.
Overall Belco wanted it more, worked harder and their delivery into their forward line was a lot better from start to finish.

Thanks for that OFTR. Seems to be the same issues with a lack of intensity and poor skills that I witnessed two weeks ago against Tuggers from the Tigers. People will say it is only early days and they are probably right, but given their playing list and the fact that three teams have now beaten the Swans it would appear that 3 wins and 1 loss is very flattering.

Great win by the Super 2's against the Kournakova's at the Cow Paddock yesterday.
Both teams played good hard old fashioned footy with no side giving an inch. Game could have gone either way but this time it went to the good guys, but both teams should be credited for putting on a great game.

Only wish more of our embarrassed 1st graders where there to see what abit of G&D can do!!

You'd think they would have cut the grass a bit wouldn't you. It was long when we played on it a fortnight ago and it didn't look like they'd chopped it at all since then. I like Jamo as a venue - it's good to sit in the car and watch and yell to your hearts content. I only watched the second quarter but both sides weren't backwards - looked like a cracking contest.

Sorry it's been so quiet ABH, i'm not on the coal face at TFC this year so not completely across everything that's going on although I do get the occasional snippet or two!

Boys have started very well by all accounts, the young kids especially are embracing Horney's game plan and fingers crossed they should be able to pull of an upset or three throughout the year.

Had a look at Noel Sibly's match report on the QBN website during the week and was pretty unimpressed with the arrogance displayed though. I know that it hasn't gone unnoticed down in the Valley.

P.S. Ned Sibly sucks and needs a new tooth.

TT if you check out the website this week after the flogging the boys received you will noticed that there is plenty of praise to Belco and deservedly so.

Sorry 3GM - its a shit venue!! Worse than Greenway even!!

Greenway is too open, just not enough cover. Freezing in the middle of Winter.

Shame they let Vikings takeover Wanniassa Oval many years ago, I played there a few times for Tuggers back in the day. Good ground.

Those were the days when only half the team could fit in the change rooms at Wanniassa which were designed by a dwarf. Not a huge problem as the other half of the team had a smoke outside while that was happening. It was the 80s after all.

Just need to build another bloody big office block on the other side of Greenway and that will fix the problem.

Jamison is a disgrace. I arrived early and assisted the belco official pick up broken glass from the field. The grandstand has broken seats and litter lying around since last year. The dressing rooms are a health hazard. They are filthy. Whatever is going on in the centre wicket area with pools of muddy, fly blown, bird crap water is also a health hazard. Pity any player who had a cut and slid through that stuff.

So boys, with Belconnen seemingly having turned the corner after a slow start, are they up to the challenge of Ainslie this week?

They will beat Ainslie comfortably

We'll see about that ABH, though i get the feeling the way ainslie and belco match up this year it'll be a pretty tight contest. Belconnen sure wouldn't want to blow a dominant start to the game again like the first round. 2.9 before ainslie kicked a goal really cost them. AFC's got a point too, ainslie's improving, the new boys are really starting to settle in now. I can't see it being more than 20pts either way

you must not have seen the round 1 result ABH, which was not very long ago. Fair enough Belco have improved considerably but so have Ainslie. Ainslie by 5 goals.

To be honest AFC1 im not yet convinced, but beat the inform Belco and then Qbn and you have my attention.

The only reason I say Qbn is that your record against the Tigers over the last decade has been poor and you would know this.

Out of curiousity AFC1, how many wins did you have over Qbn in your career??

Knowles being out for the next 12 weeks might SPOIL chances for the Pies this week. It would be embarrassing if this extended layoff was a result of the injury he so 'bravely' kept playing through back in round one.

Jammo is a first class shithole - would rather watch and play at Kippax.

Grounds in the region that I've played on that I think are better than Jamison:

MDO
Manuka
Kingston
Ainslie
ANU South

Worse than Jamison (with reasons):

Amaroo (too big, too windy, too far away)
Yass (the 45 degree slope into the river)
Goulburn (the huge crater on the far wing, shit grass, no changerooms)
Cooma (as above)
Kambah (U16 sized oval)
Stirling (just a plain revolting field)
Harman (awesome social club though)

I don't think Greenway is any better or worse than Jamison - better facilities for coaches and players but it's pretty windy out there and you are pretty much stuck with sitting in that stand as opposed to your car parked round the boundary.

If Kippax gets up it will be a pretty schmick looking setup though. Hopefully we get a few ideas from the setup out at MDO (which is the best 'home' ground in Canberra by miles and miles).

That will hurt a bit. Reckon you might just be muck racking with the injury cause though. I think it's a broken foot.

Welcome aboard Dee Train. Not sure whether you will be seeing Eastlake dominate in 08. They have the worst game plan of any side in the comp and a playing coach who refuses to step up when the side needs him.
