So you are saying we are a good marking side in front of the footy ?Yeah that Brisbane team in the grand final was just loaded with big 'stand and mark' forwards. All them big 199 cm gorilla forwards. No wonder Geelong couldn't cope.
I reckon 9 (13) will be between Farrow, Grlj, Dov / Pickett.Based on the information we have, I'm going with:
1. Duursma (West Coast)
2. Uwland (Gold Coast - West Coast bid matched)
3. Dean (Carlton - West Coast bid matched)
4. CDT (West Coast)
5. Patterson (Gold Coast - Richmond bid matched)
6. Anable (Brisbane - Richmond bid matched)
7. Taylor (Richmond)
8. Cumming (Richmond)
9. Robey (Essendon)
10. Sharp (Essendon)
11. Nairn (Melbourne)
12. Schubert (Melbourne)
13. Farrow (Essendon)
Don’t rate Schubert. Is this because you do not rate Schubert or you do not want a KPF ?
If you run through our list of 190cm plus forwards there is really only May as a possible contested marking forward.
Caddy is more attack the footy type and not a stand and mark.
Visentini is going to be a ruck forward.
Gerreyn is still a long shot and could end up being used in defence.
We are a really poor marking side in front of the footy. Schubert is a genuine marking forward.
Grlj at #9 would be interesting.I reckon 9 (13) will be between Farrow, Grlj, Dov / Pickett.
...actually, not sure we've shown interest in Grlj. Maybe Schubert.

Twomey has us taking Taylor, Sharp Dovaston which is fine, but Richmond taking Cumming and Robey. Hopefully he is wrong and one of them slips to us.
I’d be thrilled with that haul.Twomey has us taking Taylor, Sharp Dovaston which is fine, but Richmond taking Cumming and Robey. Hopefully he is wrong and one of them slips to us.
It would be also be silly to take grlj or lindsay that high in the draft, if they saw them as a need they might aswell trade back. I’d say twomey is spot on with the first 6 live picks but it gets interesting after there. I highly doubt Freo would take schubertdont see how Richmond take both Cumming and Robey after taking Lalor and Hotton last year
that is ALOT of similarities for one type of player (fwd/mid), when a team needs run (Grjl), kicking (Lindsay), or even defenders (X.Taylor), it would be silly imho to double dip on more of the same even if best available

more disappointed in moving up to 9 with the likely hood of HEA slipping to the rookie draft and us being left a selection in the 40s, or as a train on SSP spot possiblyXavier Taylor, Sharp and Dovostan is an unreal haul, would definitely be happy with that but I’m still not pleased with trading 21, 27, and 30 for 9, I think that’s an overpay. Look who’s still left on the board in twomey’s phantom draft, Phillipou, NHH, Schubert, Barker.
If we do select Dovostan, I can kind of understand it but I personally wouldn’t do it.
Xavier Taylor is an unreal player, would be awesome to draft him. Getting Sharp as well is smart and it’s who I thought we’d be going for some time.
if they were taking best available they're taking Dyson Sharp so full of crap they areWhile I understand where you're coming from, Richmond have specified that with their first two picks, they're going to take BPA regardless of need.
Coupled with Cal being pretty on the money with the first 10 or 15 picks the last couple of years, it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's how it unfolds.
Agree. XTaylor seems the most logical selection for Richmond to me. I don't get Cal's choice there at all.dont see how Richmond take both Cumming and Robey after taking Lalor and Hotton last year

I'd be stoked with Dov at 9. The pressure and class he promises to bring to our forwardline and high half, in combination with Kako and (Xavier Taylor, Sharp and Dovostan is an unreal haul, would definitely be happy with that but I’m still not pleased with trading 21, 27, and 30 for 9, I think that’s an overpay. ) Sweid should set us up to play Scott's forward half game. We've had a revolving door of half-arsed small forwards for too long. This should make us much more potent....or he's playing for clicks and amazingly receives late mail / enhanced intuitive power 24 hours from now and changes his rankings.Twombstone doesn’t necessarily feel like he’s as sure as he normally is.
Last year he basically nailed the top dozen and then it all went absolutely haywire after that. This year, I’m still not sure he knows what Richmond is doing, which could throw the whole thing out.
Cal has been consistent with that group of 4 for the Tigers. I think in his phantom he has had to do some educated guessing and isn't 100% on what the Tigers will do.Phantom draft isn't based on where he thinks players should go, it's based on what he's hearing.
I will say that Richmond run a tighter ship than most clubs, so there's more of a chance that this doesn't eventuate than his other top 10 picks.
But Cal almost never misses on early picks these days. He starts to have a much poorer strike rate after the teens.
I’d still be happy with that groupX.Taylor
Sharp
And Dovaston
Twomey has
Damn no Robey![]()
