Its 5 years old have upgraded the hdds, video card over the years. The only thing I can do now is boost the ram to 32gb. Its actually kept ahead of the system requirements of games they're only starting to match it now with the speed.
Might be the best for gaming. I wouldn't take win7 online though.

Game is hard to mess around with on the PC. Rummaged through the files on the PC wondering if there was a config or settings file i could modify to change some values to make the game run smoother on my PC. Couldn't find one, Everything else seems very hard to mod. Which is a shame, gonna have to play through some graphical lag

Nope, i have a gaming PC and it runs perfectly!

if you're running it on an old or underperforming pc, then duh! it won't run well..

I think he meant if the game play / game style changes after mucking around with the sliders more than whether the game runs well on pc.

Fun fact, running an old PC (i930x/x58/W10) and Evo runs like a dog. First game I've played that's done this, although admittedly I don't do much AAA gaming and my graphics card is ancient. This could be my excuse to shell out for a 1060GTX and try and get another year or two out of the ageing beast.

I like what I see so far, although I turned the TTB slider down to 20 and still got 4 or 5 in a ten minute game. Will try it on zero tonight, beginning to wonder if it's a bug.

I'm finding that the best option is to play on legend difficulty (played about 10 matches now), and then tweak each slider to compensate.

It seems to allow the AI to make more smart and logical decisions this way. Things I have then lowered include:
AI marking ability,
Amount of free kicks (both sides),
Goal accuracy for me (lesser accuracy for the further out shots),
Tackling distance (both sides)

Have increased
Player speed (set play to "slow" overall),
Kick distance (compensated by increasing kick timer speed),
Spoiling ability
Marking stats (a bit)

I wish there was a way to turn off deliberate OOB as it's getting ridiculous, but a combo of changes to tackling stats and reducing all free kicks has seen a drastic increase in around the ground ball ups! Very happy with that.

Also reduced all tagging ability and changed all tactics to attack to try and free up players (on both teams). This in combo with press/zone tactics at kickout seem to create a bit more space. Still experimenting with stamina reductions to see if I can have players drop off further into games (so far I think it's working, as quite a few times later in games I've screamed at the tv for someone to get on him when an opposition player is in the corridor on his own!)

The biggest issue I have with sliders is getting my head around what a lower or higher number means. It's very ambiguous as it is, and then throw in the fact that it's the same thing for human player and CPU, and it gets ridiculously confusing! I'm treating CPU as another "human" player.
Best way to find out what effect each has is to make it either 1 or 99 and see the resulting outcome..

A question on zoning tactics for Wicked Witches :

In exhibition matches, I can set the CPU to setup a zonal or full press defence when I'm kicking out after a behind, but that option is not available in Season play.

Is there any way to either add a setting that will allow users to force CPU to always use a zone (like 99% of the time in current footy), or even a way to edit a setting to force it?

Also, can either a slider be added to adjust the amount of deliberate OOBs, or an option to turn it off? I'd prefer to have it completely off over it's current form (80% of OOB being paid deliberate, even when it misses a player or a bad shot at goal)..

And like others have mentioned, a way to create more space would be good- maybe a slider than determines how much players will push up the ground back into their defence when defending? That might then free up players in the centre (if they are glued to them wherever they go?)
- or if that's too hard, an option to play an extra man at half back? Would do wonders for overlaps and free men!

^ Maybe its a stability patch (well I can hope lol)

Being honest the pc version has crashed on me a few times, don't know why :(. It's great when it runs though! But I'm contemplating doing a Steam refund and buying it again months later. I should be enjoying the better version (runs and plays super smooth on pc!) but I'm still playing it on Xbox because the crashes annoy me.

I always knew Hodge was a long bomb goal specialist, but I've been doing it a lot more often in game lately.
I also discovered Will Langford can do the same :D from the center square.

Conversely Big Boy McEvoy has a default weak set shot and general poor kick for goal (barely reaches the goal square) hoping after the stats boost he can roost them!

I do love the pc version as it contains THE thing I had hoped for the most - a smoother frame rate when playing matches.

It wasn't game breaking but as I have mentioned the difference in smoothness while doing the training/free roam on the empty oval compared to playing matches was very noticeable and kind of annoying. The frame rate on pc is smooth as!!!

I have to re learn the timing so I can chain link handballs and stab kicks its so much faster! Granted I know I'll be able to play around with the options to slow it down a bit and match the consoles pace. Or at worst use the frame rate limiter program that I use for Don Bradman Cricket.

*EDIT/ADD* I have a similar opinion with the pc version of GTA V (although the differences between 360/ps3 to ps4/xbo to pc are much more noticeable). The driving in the 360/ps3 versions was almost impossible with the bad frame rate and the game overall didn't look very attractive. I got the pc version next and the Xbox One version last........... the pc version easily looks the best and plays the smoothest.

There are a few teething problems for me, the game does crash every now and then (but at least I can get it to start up, unlike on Friday night!).

I turned off the commentary straight away on the console version, and did the same on pc. A problem I have (which is even more noticeable when using headphones) I can still hear Dennis and Richo very faintly even though the commentary is set to OFF in the volume options menu.

General game play stuff

Have had a few good games on both pc and the console recently. I'll have to do another screen shot of scores from matches again soon :D. Both games saw the Swans and Bombers get out to pretty decent sized leads against me by half time or during the third quarter. To which I would fight back and win at the end :D (59 point come back in one and 73 points the other).

The Essendon game was bizarre as it was the FIRST time where the AI would steal my ball after I'd win the hit out. I don't recall that EVER happening in previous games. Like James Hird I was shocked to be sitting here while it was happening. Of course because I was so used to tapping in that direction I kept doing it, and the Essendon midfielder would just gobble it up and run it down their end. It took time for me to get out of the habit and tap the ball into open space instead of directly to the player I usually tap it to. Danniher was on fire and kicked 9 in the first quarter and had 13 by half time. Luckily I was able to contain him for the rest of the game... he only scored 4 more goals in the second half. Wish I kept the score card for it, but I hit the wrong button after being curious to see who got man of the match (Roughie also scored 17 goals!).

Really loving it the more and more I play it on pc! Have it on highest display option on 55inch 4K tv, and also cranked up supersampling in GeForce to 2.0 (not sure how much affect that is having on making it smoother).

Not a fan of the blur and depth of field, looks much better off IMO so you can see all the players clearly up field, and the crowd.

As I like to really look for my targets up field and laterally, I play with end to end camera (changing ends for team in possetion). The only down side with this is that when the ball is turned over, the camera spins (can slow it down), meaning what was "forwards" is now backwards or somewhere in between. Means the player you had running at the ball now runs in a random direction.
Might have to really slow the camera rotation down.

Anyone able to find how to mod specific players in the files? Jack Watts with dark brown hair is killing me, as are one or two others.

Oh, also forgot to ask, is anyone else seeing almost zero interchanges, even with it set to auto?

I've only seen a handful both in exhibition and season, and it seems to only be for injuries..
I'm playing 7.5min quarters, so surely that's long enough to have players fatigue/rotated?
Bit frustrating to see the end of game stats, with 4 players with zero touches due to sitting in the bench all game. Would love to see the ruckman and mids rested, as it's the same guys in he middle every time.

Maybe lowering ruckmens stamina really low will force the game to interchange them? (would have to do for all teams so both would have secondary ruckmen- assuming this idea works..)

That's one of the things I am looking forward to, setting it up on my larger tv's instead of my 21.5 monitor (looks very tiny compared to playing the Xbox version on a 42" tv). I have a 32" on my kitchen bench that I move my computer to semi regularly (when I'm copying dvds etc).

I started off with the end to end camera view way back on the Xbox, changed to the traditional side camera angle as the end to end camera view didn't really help me much when playing just as the single player in the team. That and the game seemed more sluggish in that camera angle. I experimented with it on pc and even though was smooth and non jittery! My only problem was adjusting to it as I was holding the direction of where I wanted to kick to....... only for it to not kick there but further away to the side.
