Played about 8 online matches yet there is nothing showing up in the my rank screen it's like nothing is being recorded. Anyone else getting this issue? :drunk:
 
So if u press options/start from the main menu and go to special there is an option to turn on unlimited energy. Wtf would you include an option like that.? Way to kill online play.
 
Decided I'll be returning it. It's simply just a bad game. However you look at it. I've had friends watch me play it who don't play video games say wow that looks pretty bad. It's bleedingly obviously. The CPU chips it around goes backwards sideways and the stupid marking mechanic just doesn't work nor does the punch mechanic until they go long into the forward line. Game tactics don't work - they are there too look pretty. Graphics & sound are PS2 level. Game doesn't play anything like a real AFL game. Game is full of bugs. Clearly no-one playtested it. Wicked Witch are an ordinary developer and I don't buy this keep the game and support them rubbish. I'll support games that are of a good quality. This isn't.
 
If you're having too much trouble with the marking - Turn player switch to manual, and allow marking contests to be decided by AI Vs AI
 
I would really enjoy this game if the marking mechanic wasn't so broken. Have tried holding in triangle and then releasing it when the two circle meets but that doesn't work. It seems a lot of people have the same problem. I like what someone suggested earlier with Wicked Witch patching in the circles turning green at the correct time you should mark the ball. It would make marking a lot easier.

I won't be playing this game again until Wicked Witch do something to fix the marking in this game.

Oh wow... I'm actually so shocked you're going to return this game. It's no like you've mentioned your hatred for the game 50 ****ing times in this thread.

They know desperate AFL fans will buy any shitty game they release, and judging by the reports of this being sold out, they're right. Hopefully the next time we see WW announced as the dev for an AFL game, more are skeptical of the quality of the product.

There are some red flags we saw in the build-up that we can really hammer down as definite indicators that the game will be trash.
For instance, no gameplay footage = no good.

You don't hold triangle. You push traingle once just before the two circles meet each other, the circles aim at the direction of the ball and contest..

But yes, it could be easier, no doubt, it's simple in easy mode..

Interestingly there are heaps of YouTube videos of games by users and the game looks fine/good..
 
Basically the truth through all the noise is, this is a mediocre game. Potential to be decent.
Many gripes are similar to AFL live 1.
Marking is not completely broken, only badly implemented. Career mode and be a pro is bugged too the poopa..
But if you were wowed by AFL 1 and think this is shizen
Your'e pretty much contradicting yourself.
Stop fooling yourselves and forget about dreaming about a FIFA-like.
Not gonna happen ever.
Accept what we have, learn to play it, like it or lump it. We are stuck in a mediocrity vortex. There's still fun to be had though.

Haven't been able to set up a single online match - still says 'Please Wait' and 'Opponent is still setting up' every time I find an opponent. Can anyone help? I'll probably end up returning the game to EB if I can't play it multiplayer.

Ironically it's not that far removed from FIFA 2014, not in terms of commentary but in terms of graphics and gameplay..

There are certain graphical aspects that are more pixilated in Evolution, that a 2016 FIFA would have detailed, close ups of faces are pretty good but not quite as polished as the FIFA games. Soccer is easier to develop than AFL as well.

Again considering this, WW have done very well here, far beyond what I expected, as well as Big Ant before them on Bradman cricket, the best cricket game ever made.
