One thing that annoys me is the fact that whenever you tackle a player the ball just flies up to the next player and it's so frustrating at times.
I had a passage of play the other night where it was pretty obvious the AI had decided they were just going to score regardless.

Corridor was pretty empty, and every time I tackled them the ball would spill/fly about 20m directly to another one of their players like a stab kick. One nearly travelled the entire length of the centre square. It was ridiculous.

Has Daniel from wicked witch posted anything on BF since launch? Hopefully they provide a comms on what their plans are.
They posted the following which doesn't really mean anything. Just "patch it before you play" and that they hope to bring out a patch. No promises.
Hi all,

Good to see people exploring the game and letting us know their thoughts and comments, positive, constructive or otherwise! ;) Special thanks to those that are giving the game a chance and supporting us, it goes a long way.

From reading through comments in various locations here and other places, we can see many people are not installing the day1 patch before playing!
This patch is a MUST for the game as it improves gameplay, and fixes some important bugs.
Furthermore, it is a good idea to delete save game or start a new career after the patch is confirmed as installed, as save games may have bugs saved within them.

Also, if players are seeing *censored* names, please ensure every controller that is connected is signed in, and that the sign in profile is set to over 18.

We hope this helps and you have a great weekend learning the game and exploring the modes and options.
Lastly, we are collating the feedback, and hope we can bring a patch to address any concerns, major and minor, in the near future!

Sincerely,
Daniel

Whether a patch happens is probably down to tru blu and surely they can afford Evolution one patch (which is really all it needs) as they've let big ant release a few for DBC17 (and that's still a bit of a shambles)

My two biggest gripes so far have been the commentary which is just repetitive and boring (also the way the system chooses the sound files is flawed. I was up by two goals, the only two goals of the game mind you, and after I scored my third goal Cometti says "that goal gets the Saints back in the game." What? ) and in the Be a Pro games I am a forward pocket and when the opposition were kicking out, I was giving away 50m penalties because I was standing to close to the goal square. But it wasn't my fault because it would cut to the kickout and I would be standing there and if I didn't run away immediately, I would give away a 50. I ended up changing the kickout tactics from man to man and made it zone and it stopped it.

But other than that, I am enjoying the game.
How do you change the kickout tactics on be a pro mode?

Slowly getting the hang of and loving it BUT the be a pro issue of getting taken off due to fatigue even though ive upgraded endurance to full and then having two options sitting there watching the computer play BORING or simulate to end of game which defeats the purpose is killing me.

Another huge bug bare is during a season i can't exit mid game and pick up were i left off, this is a massive oversight I feel in today's day and age

Definitely something to take note of for future updates..

Early days but enjoying it more each day.
Finally got the hang for marking... well most of the time but very rarely take a speckie. Do you have to time them earlier?
Only a few issues with mainly holding the ball decisions. I have little to no chance to get rid of the ball before being brought to ground for holding the pill, but everytime i tackle the AI it either spills free or is called no prior... only had about 2 holding the ball decisions go my way so far.
Also the kick modify button inside 50 should act as dribble kicks/banana from boundry or snap around the corner. The amount of times I've pressed the modify button for what i think is a banana appropriate situation only for it to head towards goal in a torpedo instead.

Maybe I'm going on a whim, but playing on Medium in a single game vs Medium in Pro Mode are in different worlds! I lost to St Kilda in quick game by 3 goals and then in Pro mode (with the same lineup for Pies) won by 84!! Odd.

I love the game. The only problems I have with it I think can be patched.
I've been playing the competition mode where you play the 2017 season week by week as whichever teams you want, and I have had problems when playing as the away teams. I have been unable to make manual interchanges (it just wont let me sub anyone) and also the commentators get the names of my players totally wrong. They seem to swap the names of my defenders and forwards eg. calling 'Wood' 'Williams' and 'Brown' 'Atley'.
Also, when I sim games, they seem to have a 50% chance of being a draw.
Like I said, I think these things can be easily patched and will enhance my experience with the game!

Somebody please teach me to mark.

The Ai keeps kicking points and I can't kick out to save myself.

Also somehow Lonie was my full back on hogan when I was playing online. Don't know how that happen we bit it didn't help

I'd also love someone to teach me how to mark - I have no idea right now.

With kick outs, the most effective tactic I have found is to torp it as far as you can to one of the wings. That tends to give you at least a 50/50 chance of running onto it and getting possession. Sometimes I play on then torp to give it extra distance.

What about it being on Asian countries online PSN store so us expats can actually get the game. IMO saying it will be on the international PSN store, and it only going on the US one, is just piss poor.

Go to the AFL evolution marking vids on YouTube. Try either holding on to the mark button as soon as the ball is kicked then releasing it just before the two rings blend to white. I went with this to start then tried just tapping the mark button before the rings blend and that worked as well.
Remember that you must use the left stick to get yourself in the best position to contest the mark with pushing the stick towards the direction the ball is traveling from.
For successful kick in i set the spread mode then torpedo the ball towards the dead wing and either your wingman or half back flank should give you the best chance to clear.

I think the option only becomes available when you become captain. Which was weird for me as I played one game in the TAC cup (or whatever it is called) and the very next game I was captain. I didn't even play that well in the first game (but I did get BOG).

Glad to see this thread kicking on despite the knockers. I am enjoying it more each day like others but it does really need a patch for commentary, interchange nd the fatigue issue among others. I would also like to see the ratings on big guys dwindled a bit athletically as often the key forwards and backs get the most touches.

Completed my first season in the TAC for be a pro rookie. Was expecting a draft where i have No say where i go as IRL but given a few contract offers and despite accepting 1 wasnt in the draft. Really feel like you should be drafted into your first club. I was expecting to be number 1 pick but unfortunatly nothing.

In my opinion the tackling/free kicks when playing against the CPU has deliberately been broken by WW on the harder levels as a cheap way to increase the difficulty.

I watched a replay of one of my tackles (that should have been holding the ball or a throw) and the ball just flew out of the CPU's right hand (there was no handball) and magically travelled sideways about 20 metres directly to his teammate and it was called play on.

When you're tackled, even when there's no prior, it's called holding the ball about 9 times out of 10 whereas it's almost impossible to get a holding the ball call against the CPU when playing or medium or higher. When you tackle the CPU usually one of three things happen it's either called a ball up, the ball either spills out or magically flies directly to a teammate or it will be called a push in the back or high tackle.

I'm almost certain that the tackling/free kicks are deliberately coded CPU cheese because from experience, the tackles and free kicks seem to be far more balanced and fair on the lower difficulty levels.

Had 1 game and got smashed ,not liking this game after that BUT I'm going to persist with this and I believe the more I understand the control configurations the more positive I will feel about it. Hopefully get some more Gametime for this towards the end of the week too

I agree and it's very frustrating. I hate it when we're clearly playing by different laws of physics. Pretty sure I remember Ross saying that they always tried to make sure that the AI was never superhuman, and could only do what the human players could do. Which is a lot fairer than nerfing the player so that you can't kick 30m on the run while the AI is dobbing them from the centre square. Unfortunately though, once you figured the AI out it meant the 100 point blowouts that we all got used to.

Getting the hang of it. Got to make the decision whether to mark or spoil. And to move on the ball as quickly as possible. Getting the ball in congestion is the hard bit...hey, sounds like an AFL game!

Try and organise all the hints and tips available to make life easier..

for instance changing the game sliders for positions on the ground to suit the game and so on..

there is a lot of tactical planning when playing this game...

it's not just turn it on and easy football per se..but of course playing it on "easy" gives you that option, of simpler football..
