Question for Ross, just out of interest as I have no idea what so ever on how a game is made from start to finish, what were the processes about how to do this game, game play first, then modeling players/stadiums etc?
I would guess that the detail modeling of players would be one of the latter things, to keep the lists up to date? or has it been a case of the well known players like Judd, Ablett and co got modeled earlier than others, who only came into AFL systems this year?
Another Q on that, in regards to attributes and stats, are they updated on a weekly basis, or will be touched up before release, or were they rated say at the start of the season?
Examples would be from my club Richmond, Ben Nason was a late pick, and at the start of the year people would have said he would have been lucky to get a game, obviously Riewoltd has stepped up to be a really good forward this season and one of Dustin Martins biggest strengths is his strength, the guy is a hard man to tackle, so will the attributes be up to date upon release date, and guys like Nason who would have been ranked well below say a Tom Hislop and Adam Thomson at the start of the year, will now be rated a lot higher etc?
I know it would take a huge effort to do this game so was just interested in hearing the process behind it, in terms of what do you start the game with etc?
When the game ships we will be releasing a "developer diary" that will have pictures, concept art, and lots of "insider" goodies.
I would like to continually keep up to date stat's via XBLA/PSN (online), the ability for us to do this is being worked through, no promises, but if we can we will.
