According to the Ch 10, the AFL are going to launch an investigation into the trade deals concerning the Hawks and the Bulldogs.

I honestly don't see what the Hawks done wrong, they are in their right to look after their best interests! And obviously what the Roos were offering was found not to be in their best interests.

Rawlings is the one who caused this. He wouldn't sign to go anywhere except Kangaroos so Hawthorn made sure they got something for him. Both parties were happy to do it so who cares?

If the Rawlings deal had gone through any earlier, Port could've done the same thing with Carlton

it will be interesting.
it's not an arms length transaction, but does it actually convene the rules. Breaks the spirit of them, left, right, and centre - but is it illegal.

will be interesting to watch.
how do you legislate for fair value, anything arbitary like that is a real can of worms. We do not recognise that deal, you got shafted??

The Bulldogs obviously think they were clever by doing this dodgy deal and backing Rawlings into a corner. What would happen if Rawlings nominated for the national draft and not the Pre Season draft. This would mean that if the Dog’s wanted to draft him, they would miss out on Cooney. Rawlings couldn't nominate his price but it would serve the Bulldog's right for operating outside the spirit of the rules.

The problem is WB has effectively traded for Rawlings without needing Rawlings consent for it. If they traded for him legitimately they would have needed Rawlings' consent to do the deal.

It's possible that Kangaroos put a good deal forward (and they must have considering as of last night it was apparently all but done).

He can't. As an uncontracted given that he left the club, he can only niminate for the 2 minute draft.

That's how it looks from the outside anyhow.

However if the Hawks consider Jacobs instead of a Top 10 Pick and Jones to be better for them, well then good on'em

I will however LMAO

Cheers
