It's extremely difficult on current-gen consoles due to memory management issues. I wouldn't call it laziness, it would be a matter of putting other priorities ahead of it.

We have implemented it for Don Bradman Cricket 14 but it has been a long time in the making.

Was there any testing of having it include with AFL Live? If so were there any other reasons why you didn't use it other than memory issues?

Cheers Ross, on a side note have been looking forward to Don Bradman Cricket 14 ever since a Big Ant Cricket game was announced back in 2010 or thereabouts!

AFL Live Premiership Edition had a decent instant replay I remember, would've been easier on older consoles then I suppose (or maybe just because Acclaim barely devoted anything to graphics/gameplay)

We tried but realised it would need to be in the next one. It was all about memory.

During development we start with a really long list, prioritise it and then put as many things in as time and resource permit.
 
So one thing that confuses me about career mode is how we advance levels particularly from vfl to afl. is it random or do I just choose a team to hitch my player on to?

Judging by AFL Wii you choose your team at the start of your career and if that team is a vfl team(tac cup etc) then at seasons end you might be offered a contract from clubs interested in your services ( both VFL and AFL teams). You also continue to receive offers from clubs at the end of each season even if you are already signed by an AFL team.

Was that on the basis of the last 20 seconds of play stored in memory to be recalled for the replay? Or a longer period like you can do for FIFA?
I think a buffer of 20-30 seconds would be brilliant. Stiff shite if you wanted something before that.

I would kill to watch an awesome goal I just scored in slow mo or different camera angles with the ability to save.

From looking at the team editor section in the manual it doesn't look like you can do this.
It's really annoying though, particularly when trying to create state of origin sides however there doesn't seem to be a create a team option in this game either.
 
While I understand they couldn't update ALL the faces, I just hope the ones that weren't properly rendered have at least proper hair color and such.
 
The player editor in AFL Live 2’s allows you to build your own team. You can create a team with players from any era in AFL history, or an All-star team that never existed. You could even make a team of 18 Tony “Plugger” Locketts if that’s what you want to see!

Doesn't suggest anything you couldn't do with player creator and team editor.
AFL Wii also had a player creator, team editor and no team creator so I'm about 95% sure there won't be one.

The first pic seem really blocky and jaggy I understand it is an up close picture but still looks a bit dodgy.

Where as the last pic with the Sydney player lining up for goal actually doesn't look too bad.
 
If I preorder this at JB and then return within 7 days will they refund? And will I get to keep my little football that my dog will enjoy? Then I can get the EB steelbook plus the footy for the dog? :D

JB don't do refunds do they? Doesn't there have to be a legitimate reason other than "I didn't like the game"? On that alone, I might buy from EB for their 7-day return policy

I've returned to JB with no issues.
 
My understanding is if you buy the game and don't use it you can refund it. Considering I'd have 2 copies that wouldn't be an issue.
