Tru Blu are geniuses. Look how much talk they have going about this game without spending a dime on advertisement. They have given very little and gotten alot in return. Even if alot of that talk is bad people are still talking. Now no one knows what the gameplay is going to be like and we have a few screenshots so what does that mean? when the game is released everyone will go to their local ebgames or wherever they buy their games and look at it, the more people that look at it the more people are likely to pick it up. just a thought anyway, wouldnt be the first time a publisher has used this type of tactic to increase sales on release, specially when the game has been low budget.

Wait so lets see
- Having people on a forum trashing a game that hasnt even come out yet is good publicity ?
- Bigfooty users would be lucky to make up 10% of the total people that would buy the Afl live game. Meaning that 90% of the general target public have no idea a new game is coming out. Genius marketing indeed
- If you are seriously going to run into EB games and buy this game on launch day because of a handful of screenshots, then you are seriously dumb. Most people want to see a trailer or read gameplay reviews (post launch) before deciding whether or not to buy this $100 game (especially given GTA V comes out a few days later)
- "The More people that look at it, the more people are likely to pick it up". Rubbish statement which means nothing
- You are right its not the first time this tactic has been used on an game. Wicked Witch did the same thing for the Wii game, and we all know how that ended up

Try not to be soo stupid next time thanks

It's almost as if they know this version will be shit, but are banking on it selling due to people thinking it's an actual successor to Big Ant's version.

Why slag a champion off for being proud of his success?
Whoaaaa....champion is a stretch, he captained a champion team, but wasn't even close to being one himself.

Would it have been too hard to introduce himself as 'Tom Harley'? or do you think from now on he should only introduce himself as 'The two time premiership captain Tom Harley'?

Plus where did I slag him off? I merely told a 100% accurate story, that I am sure 99% of people will agree makes him out to be a FIGJAM of the highest order.

Premiership players are not champions?

Id say its more FIGJAM to just assume strangers know who "Tom Harley" is by name.

At least he has said the words that may trigger "ah yeh you are." Instead of "tom who?"
I'm a cat man Vealesy but even I gotta say if the stories true it comes off pretty arrogant to the average punter.

He could of said 'I'm Tom Harley I used to be captain of Geelong in the AFL'.

Then again he might just be too used to being in the media/commentating.

Surely saying he was a former AFL player would have been enough. The funny thing is the person who he was speaking to would have no ****ing idea if he did captain Geelong, they probably just recognised him from the vitamin ads he does on tv.

That was my point exactly and I can guarantee the story is true, because one of the first things my did was ring me up and ask if there was a Tom Harley that captained Geelong.

With actual feedback from the developer though, AFL Live was getting through around 2-3000 posts per month (sometimes even 1000 posts in a week!) and 100k views. This thread has only just gone past the 1000 post mark and hasn't broken 60k views yet.

It's a blip on what could be done.

Yeh fair enough then.

Ive always struggled with the concept of arrogance, especially when you have earned the right to be proud of your achievements.

I understand you point. If it was a sportsmens night or he was giving a speech somewhere then calling himself '2 time premiership captain Tom Harley' would be totally appropriate. But when talking to a 60 year old lady in a café in a small Western Victorian town you would think that you would tone it down a little.

Just hoping and praying that they get the trading system right. I remember in one version of the game you were able to trade 3 duds for a superstar, you could also get other teams ageing stars, so you could get players like Harvey and Black for extremely cheap I had always hated that.

and the salary cap. in afl 07 the 2nd season you would always be over the cap come years end so you would have to get rid of a few stars just so you could draft players

So I'm curious as to if AFL Live 2 will include free agency. There has been no word about it and you would think they would have mentioned it along with trading, drafting, finances etc. Will be a bit of a let down if it's not included in this version.

Did Tru Blu say anything about the instant replay system. Will there be a option on the main menu?

Basically the rule of thumb for TruBlu games is that if this thread has no answer, TruBlu sure as hell have no answer.

Personal achievements should give other people the right to say how good you are, not for you to say how good you are.

So it basically worked like every floated potential trade on BigFooty?

No it doesn't, it says that Big Ant were thought to be working on it, then it says Wicked Witch are the developers.

I actually left a comment at the bottom of the page and he updated the article ;)

Haha, maybe he hasn't got any idea then

Well he did notice what we have all been thinking

My mistake, the publisher was not forthcoming with the developer name, they seem to be keeping that info somewhat under wraps
