yeah went back to the store in the city this moning and they had changed their sign to the 28th.....bastards.

I wanna know if the game is gonna be alot harder than 2003, if its not i think ill opt for rugby 2003 first which comes out on the same day :D
If anyone could help me out here then it would great???

cheers

Most of the complants that they got were about the difficulty level of the game so yes it will be harder.

Supposedly the PC version of the game has been delayed to the 5th of September.

PS2 and Xbox still slated for 28th

Played afl2004 at a store in the city today but they're not releasing it until tomorrow.

I didn't really know what i was doing but it seemed pretty good. The snap shots are good. The ruck was controlled/won by whoever stopped a curser closest to a line in the middle.

The game I played was in the wet and the ball woulds skid along the ground. You also seemed to be able to take a dive but that may have been me diving for a mark before the ball had even got near me.

Speccies seemed to be more realistic (not big one handers) and you could play on after a mark without stopping.

The kicking for goal seemed to be a little easy but it may have been on easy level.

Commentary seemed to flow alright with Dennis. They crossed to Chritie Malthouse at the start of the quarter to hear what the coaches have said and at the end of the game I heard her say the 3 Brownlow votes go to.........

That's about all I can remember right now

oh and hopefully it's an omen the Bombers beat the Pies:D

Picked up my copy on X-box tonight. Asked the guy at K-mart Vic Gardens, and he said he had it out the back.

Definitely feels different to last years game. Need to perfect timing more. Taking marks doesn't seem as easy. Played my one game so far on easy level, with two minute quarters, winning six goals 1, to one point. That point was me kicking the wrong way. :D

The graphics seem a little cleaner, although hardly groundbreaking. The ruck thing seems fairly simplistic, as discussed above. In the tactics section, you can indicate whether your team will more likely grab the ball from ruck contests, tap or punch. options are there for other facets of play as well.

I don't like the way the camera jumps to a close-up of the goal umpire after a goal...it seems too rushed and jerky. Goal kicking was fairly easy on 'easy' level.will be interesting to test the wind on harder levels.

Dennis Commetti seems pretty smooth on commentary, but Gerard's special comments seem a little ordinary. They really need to say team names more than one way...it doesn't flow well. Christie Malthouse sounds ok from what I've heard.

Still wonder what the programmers were on when creating team line-ups. FFS, Craig Biddiscombe is in the Tigers' starting 22. :(

Looks like the full forward is the designated captain. they tossed the coin at the start of the match.

One thing to note is that the computer will use it's interchange this year...just something that used to sh1t me a little last year.

Looks like the sides may be rated on their form at 1/3 of the way through this season. In a demo-mode Wizard cup game I've got running, Richmond lead Melbourne 56-18 half way through the second qtr...

Anyway, that's it for now. Need to play some more to form a real opinion. All I'll say is I'm happy with the purchase so far.

....After all, it's footy

LOL what a joke of a game!

Played my first game now on 'medium' and 5 minute Qs

Hawks 27.12.174
Carlton 1.2.8

Nathan Thompson 15 goals couldn't get a vote from Christi at the end who gave

3 Murphy (C) (3 disposals, 1 goal)
2 Crawford (H) (17 disposals, 5 goals)
1 Manton (C) (2 disposals and had 15 kicked on him)

Get friggin real!

:D - Seems like someone is getting paid an awful lot of money to sit on their arse and develop crap software. 2 years in a row
I'm using AFL Live 2003 for a coaster, not making the same mistake again.
