Hahaha.... I struggled as much as you did when the patch came out.... but instead of giving it up, I changed the way I play, and it's helped me heaps. I'm now competitive in our competition, and it wasn't through playing it heaps (I've played it less since the patch came out).

So really, it's not the game, it's the player.

I found the biggest change for me was that I used to always punch with the right stick.... so even though I was trying L2 and Right Stick, it was a lot less effective, and I'd usually get out marked.
Now, I used L2 and Triangle almost all the time.... seems to punch so much more . Sometimes you can still use L2 and the right stick, but only when you're in front and don't have body on you.

At least, that's the main thing that I've changed.

Thi is what i didn't like the most.

I used to gain an edge by running better angled lines, now anyone can hold sprint and get into space.

was hating on this yesterday but now love it

it did take some getting use to but i was willing to ajust and now i have i love it.

love being able to take a set shot. and love always getting my wins
 
Post the patch, my offline game I had six injuries in the last quarter.

Yeah the AI was different. Noticed I also had more space to run. Had Ryan Griffen run from half back to inside the 50 to kick goals. Left his opponent for dead.
 
Legend difficulty is definitely a lot harder. The AI is a lot smarter and will kick to players running into space most of the time so its hard to get a spoil in. Last night I played 20min quarters NAB Cup against Richmond and my lead never blew out beyond 3 goals. Richmond even hit the lead a few times so I had to be real switched on to win the match. I've noticed the AI tackles a lot more than before and will even switch the play so it is actually a lot more enjoyable playing.
