My heart breaks for these rugby state campaigners who cry about their plight... and their plight is that they have won the most flags since 2000 and the system is incredibly likely to secure them a chance at a fourth-straight grand final.

The access these states have to top-line academy talent, regardless of their ladder position, is destroying the fabric of the competition and they are incapable of seeing the problem as it benefits them greatly.

It won't happen, but the gravy train needs to be derailed. Cause these blokes genuinely believe "it's just a rare purple patch of talent - it will dry up". No, it isn't. If the AFL allows it to continue, the Lions and Suns will contend for decades.

You don't have the Hawks of 3 years down and 4 flags in a 10 year cycle to go "I am good at my job" or the Pies, Blues, Dons and co of "I am a competent business that sometimes dabble in footy and generally remark back to World War days and sigh". You had 20 years of failure, died took a corpse, stitched it together and went "we're good now" that you just don't want to be us and a joke to everyone, so you focus on the good times and insert a rod up your arse to be insufferable instead.
