Prefer it to be done in one night, won't be able to follow it on TV the following morning.
It's a farce that day 2 isn't on Saturday.

Trying to copy American sports....the only thing is AFL draft has a lot less players drafted than in American sports.

Hardly anyone would watch Day 2 as it be on a School/Work Day

Totally unnecessary.
I'm going to take the day off, hardly anyone would bother doing that.

Leave the game alone
Absolutely agree with you, in few years oue game will be irreconcilable, the past champions must be shattered at what’s happening.
Live trading of picks has officially been introduced by the AFL and will kick off this year in November's national draft.
The Age can confirm that clubs received word from the AFL on Wednesday that picks will be able to be traded by clubs when the trade period begins on October 5 all the way through until the end of the draft, which will be held over two days on November 22 and 23.
Not sure how much benefit live trading will actually be..an example is that the crows want lukosius..well if they have not been able to do a deal with Carlton or GC in the trade week to secure a pick that is likely to guarantee him, what chance is there on the night that things will change? You would think that whatever the crows would be prepared to offer for that pick has been offered before draft night..or am I missing something with the premise behind the benefits of live trading
Picks are allowed to be traded from trade period to draft night as part of the new systemShould they leave the Trade Period Open to Draft Night Then with Picks possibly being Traded on Draft Night/Day
yep essentially halves the excitement about it imo
I think it will come in eventually, but still dissapointing you can't ontrade or trade for draftee's taken on the night.
It had the most potential of the concept for draft strategy and taking advantage of certain player drops and acquisitions.

The reality is that majority of football followers don't care about draft until in 5 years when it goes well or pear shaped.Yay we get to see 18 picks on day 1 - all of which we know what order they go in as the phantom drafts get 90% of it correct. Plus we don't have any idea who any of these players are, as nobody watches u18 footy and all we know about them is just what we are told by 'experts'.
Then day 2 we get to see more players who we have no idea who they are get picked.
The stupidity to try ad copy American sport when every decent sport fan in the US knows a lot of the players through college sports and have actually seen them play to make draft day exciting. Plus in a sport like MLB they pick about 40 players per club, whereas the AFL draft will have somewhere between 6-80 players all up.
Thursday night, the first round.so what are they gonna do on day 1?
