G'Day all, Footys back you lil beauty:thumbsu:
Had a little dabble in the NAB cup and finished -1.8 units down. But now the real stuff begins

Happy to sit the Carlton v Richmond game out. Was leaning towards the blues and the have looked the better side. But cannot back either team with confidence this early.

PORT ADELAIDE V GEELONG (AAMI)

Cats have won 5 of the last 6 including 2 at AAMI and of course the big one! They are missing King, N.Ablett, Ottens, Wojcinski from premiership team. But this team looks strong! Port missing Wakelin, Chaplin, Wilson from back line and Thurstons is under cloud which could hurt. Ports Ruckmen should have advantage and if Motlop, Treadea, Ebert get first use then they will be on there way. But with Scarlett, Harley, Milburn etc back there every touch will be well earnt! Im siding with the cats at -8.5. Going on the way the cats finish teams off 40+ @ $4.75 is worth a little:thumbsu:

My Bets : CATS -8.5 (1.5 units @ $1.88)
CATS over 39.5 (0.3 units @ $4.75)

A bit late but 2 for 2 for me tonight

Richmond and Geelong 1-39 win as I did in the AFL football bets thread. Not much more worth betting on this week. Essendon if they get to 2 bucks is good value I feel

I bet you were shitting bricks the last minute mate

Your not wrong there Benny:eek: So glad a grabbed the extra point offered @ Centrebet. Most other bookies had the line @ -9.5 .... Always take the most points offered:) Nice win to kick off the round +1.02u profit:thumbsu:

Not liking too many games this round.

COLLINGWOOD V FREMANTLE (MCG)

My initial thoughts on this game were Magpies at home looks a safe bet. However once the sides were released and I looked into it, the more I like the Dockers to upset here ....

Freo has won 3 of last 4. Including 2 at the MCG, and there record is 6 from 9 here since 2004. Collingwood mising Buckley, Clement, Licuria (retired) Presti, Burns (injured) and B.Johnson (sus). Thats alot of experience and leadership out! Freo are missing Haselby. Freo has the edge in the midfield with Burns/Johnson out. Not sure how collingwood will hold Pavlich?

Harvey will have this team focussed and ready to fire today. My pick is Freo in a close one so am happy to take the points start

My Bet: DOCKERS +6.5 (0.75u @ $1.91)

ST.KILDA V SYDNEY

Really like the saints Tonight also. However with the way the swannies play this will be closer than the bookies have the two teams. Don't like giving away to many points against Paul Roos Swans, They will try to lock this game down and keep it tight.

However the Saints looked inpressive in the NAB cup. And with King and M.Gardiner managing the ruck duties, this allows Kosi to play where he is most dangerous, Up forward! add to that Gehrig, Reiwoldt, Schneider, This will stretch almost any team. Saints for me in a close one.

I also punt in the NRL so for this game as I only like the saints to win @ $1.42, am including them with the Storm to win @ $1.35

My Bet : SAINTS / STORM WIN (1u @ $1.92)

note: Staying away from the WCE V LIONS match at this stage

How annoying is it when you tip someone for first goalscorer, and they start on the bench.

Had $5 each on Cloke and Pendlebury  to kick the first goal. -$10

Had $5 each on Pavlich and Rocca (@ $7.00) for most goals. +$25

Have $10 multi bet on Coll/Coll, Nth Qld, Socceroos (@ $3.59)

If the multi gets up, I'm $40.90 up, if it doesn't, I'm still $5 up.

tonite was a good nite for me, i had 2 seperate multis on
one was 100 bucks on collingwood under 39pts, saints win and west coast over 15.5pts,
and the 2nd multi was
collingwood over 15.5 west coast over 15.5 and saints win

first of all i was at work so i was nervous with the hole freo pies game
2nd was watching the saints get to a 4 odd goal lead then neerly blow it
then finally my heart neerly stopped listenin 2 the last 5 mins of the fwest coast brisbane game wen they were 16 pts up with minutes to go, oh god was i shitting myself, well anywayz i am a lucky lad and won just a touch over 1050 bucks so im sweet

well thats gone West Tigers getting up bummer, I put one on for $5

WBD first to 25 pts into Haw/Haw into Melb/Melb (nrl) into Manly/Manly to pay $49.45
I had the Manly game on heading to work tonight and they got a late Try in the first half to lead only to lose by a Pt:(

The other annoying thing about first goal kickers is when you put the wrong code in, and you get a $51-1 backman for first goal:D

Any way what ever happens ill still be up for the weekend as I got on Ebert for first goal in the Port/Gee game:)

Had two multis on the AFL so far.

1) Richmond, West Coast, Collingwood, Adelaide and Essendon to win. $23 to collect 372.

2) Saints U39.5, WCE U39.5, Collingwood U39.5. $16 to collect 169.70. WIN

Looking at $15 on Adelaide, Hawthorn and Essendon U39.5 today.

WESTERN BULLDOGS V ADELAIDE (T/DOME)

Not long till kick off but liking the crows! they have a great record against the dogs. form has been good and play ok at the dome. The dogs form hasn't been good. It is Johnno's 300th but I feel a let down in preformance. Hudson and Welsh are good inclusions but will need time to find there feet at a new club. Dogs still lack height with naming Harn and Minson at CHF and FF. Crows have a good even spread all over the ground. Crow's for mine

my bet: CROWS WIN (1u @ $1.75)

ey mate wat does 'unit' mean, like for example wen u say u tip a team 1 unit? cheerz

unit can be any amount your comfortable betting. for me 1 unit is $100 ... it could be $10, $50 or $1000?

So the more units i bet the more confident i am. so this week I've backed:
cats 1.5, freo 0.75, saints/storm 1 and now crows 1.

Nice multis so far boys, great way to find value:thumbsu:

cheerz mate thanx 4 that, yeh i guess multis are the way to go in the early rounds, ive had a bit of luck i guess, i got 1 more to go this round which was storm to win last week, nadal to win last week and west coast to be up at every qtr and rooz to get up at every quarter for a payout of 66

NTH MELBOURNE V ESSENDON

Bombers are pretty much full strenght missing only Neagle and Welsh. But question marks have to be over the fitness of Fletcher, Lloyd and McPhee who have played very little leading up to round 1. The Roos will be without Sinclair and J.Smith who give plenty of run and drive off half back. Both teams have a good record at the dome but the Kangas have won there last 6 against essendon.

The bombers showed plenty of promise in the Pre season. Running the ball at all costs, which could catch the roos out if they get their confidence up. However The experince of Harvey, Grant, Simpson, Wells, Rawlings, Harris in the midfield and the return of N. Thompson should be enough to prevale in a tight contest.
This team did play off in the Prelim Last year and will be hungry to be their again. Roos for mine.

My Bet : KANGAROOS WIN (1u @ $1.75)

Had the doggies U39.5 yesterday (HELLO BLOOD PRESSURE!) and got the Kangas for the same today. Got a feeling it'll be a bit of a shoot out as both sides like running the ball and have very good power forwards at both ends. But the Kangas class and experience should see them get there.

CATS over 39.5 (0.3 units @ $4.75)

All went down hill after the catters hey mate...Just down a lazy 2.73units (just kept deducting after the cats collect) for your good self...that is the exact reason why i dont bet in round one...oh well always next week, will have to pit myself against you to see if i can do any better, not that i would have on the weekend!
