$800 a year and you can't get tickets to the big games. 2nd year in a row missed on Anzac Day tickets. Locking out competing club members again. I'm sure the Telstra employees who got nice seats undercover will enjoy it.

Those people should buy club memberships then.Noticed a couple of people on Twitter complaining about not having priority in the AFL Reserve for Anzac Day when having Collingwood or Essendon as their club of support.
I feel that kinda defeats the purpose of the membership if it’s just an extension of the public sale to club members first basically. If anyone should get priority it’s Gold Members but I don’t see that happening outside of the Grand Final.
Competing club members are not locked out, they have as much chance as every other club member.$800 a year and you can't get tickets to the big games. 2nd year in a row missed on Anzac Day tickets. I hear ya mate. I'm in the same boat. Two years in a row I've been logged in at least an hour before the onsale time and missed out. It's really not good enough.$800 a year and you can't get tickets to the big games. 2nd year in a row missed on Anzac Day tickets. Locking out competing club members again. anzac day tickets harder to get for competing clubs than grand final tickets for non gold members competing membersI hear ya mate. I'm in the same boat. Two years in a row I've been logged in at least an hour before the onsale time and missed out. It's really not good enough.
Has anyone had to do the one time single-use code from Ticketek?
The clubs set the price for reserved seating based on demand. The people who buy last minute tickets are those who only go to 1 or 2 games a year, and so are more likely to splurge for expensive tickets.I am thinking of scanning at the gate on Friday despite my hatred of Marvel, because it could be a good game.
I went online as a matter of interest and level 1 seats are priced at $100, level 2 at $150. These are not resale tickets. Since when has it cost so much? GA is only $27.
With a lot of level 3 showing no availability and the rest as single seats it makes it look like the match is almost sold out, but I am sure the unavailable bays on level 3 are mostly GA.
Did it work ok for you?I had to yesterday
What kind of person who goes to one or two games a year is going to be spending $150 on a ticket? The clubs set the price for reserved seating based on demand. The people who buy last minute tickets are those who only go to 1 or 2 games a year, and so are more likely to splurge for expensive tickets.
The GA sections will be the back 10 or so rows around the ground and will likely fill up quickly.
That's the thing. There are probably more people who don't go to the game as a result of this, than do. I.e. the occasional attendees who go on Ticketmaster this week, don't see GA (it is not easy to see) and say, stuff that, I am not spending $100 to go to the footy. What kind of person who goes to one or two games a year is going to be spending $150 on a ticket?
If they're the sort of people who wouldn't wince at that sort of money, they're probably connected and spending most of the year on the French coast and when they're in Melbourne, are certainly not paying for tickets.
I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs but I genuinely have no idea who sits in tier two of Marvel. it seems members are in the first few rows on the flanks of level three and then down on the first tier. I'm assuming it's mostly sponsors + reciprocal rights + Medallion Club overflow + the club's allocations.
(I still think they should open up one half of it for shitkicker games.)
Of course it is harder these days to get a ticket. Te AFL keep adding more members but not more seats. The AFL members has shrunk from where it first started at the MCG in 1992. The Marvel memberships now take seats away plus the sponsors who sell tickets to employees are taking seats.Competing club members are not locked out, they have as much chance as every other club member.
On top of this they have a bronze membership and Silver membership has had to be capped. It's time they restrict tickets to the big games based on tier of membership.
I think as soon as they tweak rules on a game for the AFL reserve (Say limited to one guest pass, or none, reserve tickets only) at that point club allegiance should get priority. Your really talking about a handful of games a season this would apply for, doesn't defeat the purpose. Can still walk up to 98% of games for the year.Noticed a couple of people on Twitter complaining about not having priority in the AFL Reserve for Anzac Day when having Collingwood or Essendon as their club of support.

So what restrictions did silver have for Anzac Day? Only restrictions I've seen on silver was for Prelims and Grand Finals. They do.
Why though? The MCC doesn’t have club allegiances why should the AFL Reserve? It’s not a club membership.I think as soon as they tweak rules on a game for the AFL reserve (Say limited to one guest pass, or none, reserve tickets only) at that point club allegiance should get priority. Silver shouldn't have restrictions. We all signed up knowing that as silver you didn't get the Grand Final or Prelims. it would not be fair to take other games away now. That is why they introduced bronze. So what restrictions did silver have for Anzac Day? Only restrictions I've seen on silver was for Prelims and Grand Finals.
Think slightly less rich than that. What kind of person who goes to one or two games a year is going to be spending $150 on a ticket?

Half is Medallion club.I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs but I genuinely have no idea who sits in tier two of Marvel. it seems members are in the first few rows on the flanks of level three and then down on the first tier. Thankfully now that it's been refurbished its really easy to sneak onto the seats on level 2.(I still think they should open up one half of it for shitkicker games.)
Also local members from interstate clubs who have expensive membership get into afl reserve thus reducing capacityThink slightly less rich than that.
There are plenty of supporters who aren't members, who really do just decide in the week leading up that they want to go. People who usually go to the theatre (where you would spend $100 for a ticket) and don't realise $100 is majorly overpaying.
Also interstate and international tourists who are only going for the spectacle.
Half is Medallion club.
The other half is for high paying members, and a couple of bays leftover for public seating. Afl Members can upgrade to seats for $30 on L2.
Thankfully now that it's been refurbished its really easy to sneak onto the seats on level 2.
Well yes, but there's never been a game with a Non Vic side close to selling out the afl reserve. Also local members from interstate clubs who have expensive membership get into afl reserve thus reducing cacapacity
We are talking Marvel here. Are they also getting AFL Reserve seats at Marvel in addition to the MCG?Also local members from interstate clubs who have expensive membership get into afl reserve thus reducing capacity
Again if Marvel I am sure there has been.Well yes, but there's never been a game with a Non Vic side close to selling out the afl reserve.
Why? The AFL have taken plenty away from there members over the years.Silver shouldn't have restrictions. We all signed up knowing that as silver you didn't get the Grand Final or Prelims. it would not be fair to take other games away now. That is why they introduced bronze.
the grand final was free for those old enough to rememberWhy? The AFL have taken plenty away from there members over the years.
You could get seats on level 2
You could get reserved seat packages for your teams home games at the MSG
All seats in the reserve were for AFL Members
There was no reserved seats for the GF, You walked up.
