AFL Team Membership Ladder- Tiges on the Bandwagon Slide

I believe it used to be a $50 minimum spend to count towards the membership tally, but in recent years it has reverted to any value at all, probably including pet memberships.

Regardless … put any Victorian club 18th then 17th and have them in 4th and over 90,000 - extraordinary result.
I'm only going by memory but I think I read an article where while the AFL now allows free memberships in their audit, Richmond still only counts memberships more than $50. It was something to do so you can compare like for like of the previous years membership.

A bit dissapointing that so many are dropping off after a couple of down years.

If you're one of them — get onboard for the rise back to the top! Even if it's only a three-gamer for $100. Worth every cent for all of the joy the club's given us in recent years imo.
Another way to look at it is when was the last time a team who finished bottom 2 on the ladder achieved 90,000+ members?

There was commentary going into the season that we would go through the season winless, yet 90,000+ people still signed up.

we should count the new way , cheapies and freebies. theyd melt if we had 105k this year

club needs to stop counting the old way

All things considered the membership figures for us and West Coast are quite astonishing really. Especially for the 17th and 18th placed teams. As a comparison Geelong have now reached their 10th Prelim in 15 years. So what's their excuse for not having the highest membership in the comp the campaigners 😜

no..more impressive that we count with no added cheapies
92k is bloody big, bad and strong
but we havent entered the dick measuring contest

Not a huge donation to count as a member so guessing there are excuses for the the Tiges numbers to slip below that team we beat in Round 1, who have had an absolute shocker this year.
Prepare ye all for the Bunch of Bandwagoners onslaught from the Pussy online brigade who are hot on the heels, currently in fifth with 2025 'Ship favouritism on their side. All likely their memberships will increase in 2026

What are is our defence against the bandwagon claims? What would it take to jump back on?
Just remind them of their finals record vs us

What would be interesting is stats on amount of members who pay more than, say, $150 for a membership.

There's so many <$30 memberships (which is great to draw people in, I get it), but surely stats are skewed as a result.
Bombers were selling $30 memberships and you get a $30 voucher off merchandise at the club shop with that.

Part explanation of the High number of Geelong members?
Seriously, just phoned our club. Was informed All memberships packages except the Pet membership go to the count.
I have a friend who lives down Geelong way who said their child got a Geelong membership as part of playing Junior Footy. Think that might help their numbers.

Tiges doing this for next season:

Plus Family package. The Geelong 2025 Kitten Crew is $60.00 with a $50 credit when buying Merch at club. A little tickler here with the aim to a few more hard earnts into their coffers.
