Just said on the news they are going to investigate him over his claim re an opponent having taken drugs.

*Tomorrow's news*

WADA to investigate to AFL over targeting a player for bringing up suspicions of drugs.

Now there's a headline we'd all like to see!

:thumbsu:

Actually the situation raises an interesting point as to the manner in which the AFL manages the game. The AFL is a Corporation and consquently it is caught by the Corporations Act. Under the Corporation's Act there are protections afforded whistleblowers who lift the lid on corporate crimes http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf/byheadline/protection for whistleblowers?openDocument

Now, whilst the Corporations Law operates to provide minimum requirements to companies with respect to corporate crimes it is arguable that whilstleblowers of "crimes" of a non-corporate nature should receive similar treatment. Certainly ASADA in their press release relating to the Braun incident http://www.asada.gov.au/news/releases/current/asada_release_070820_statement_braun.html
suggest that anyone with information relating to doping should contact their annonymous anti-doping hotline. Given that Akermanis did this one has to therefore query whether the AFL's investigation of Akermanis is within the best intersts of the game. I suppose what I am driving at is that the AFL in pursuing Akermanis as opposed to supporting the whistleblower are letting down the stakeholders in the game, namely the fans, club members, players not taking performance enhancing drugs and most importantly those people with legitimate information about the use of illegal and performance enhancing drugs in AFL football. Tsk,tsk, tsk AFL Shame on you!

My pet hate at the moment is when programs like the Footy show and similar refer to very good footballer as the "the great man".
All great man of the world use words like dobber, cheat on their wives, their best friend's wives, rubbish their team ,etc, etc.

When Aker is questioned, is he able to have some sort of legal or club rep. with him?.......I certainly hope so!!......wouldn't trust any AFL or ASADA people with him on his own on this issue!!...........God, they make me mad!.. Such hypocrites, the lot of them!.....

Typical of the way the AFL's going - forget the drug cheats, addicts, alleged rapists etc.:confused:

No, lets drag the whistleblower over the coals for 'bringing the game into direpute:eek:'.

Will Vlad be paying Aker a personal visit to discuss his issues like he did with Cousins???
