W/Magpies v Springwood- Maggies too good 10 goals
Sandgate v PBC- match of the round PBC could end up giving the flag a shake PBC by 4 goals
Mayne v Cooly- Could be a chance for Mayne but Cooly too many good players by 6 goals
Surfers v Burleigh- Burleigh poor last week and SP new coach doing well by 8 goals
Noosa v Maroochy- tough year for Maroochy, struggling for numbers from what I hear could be a bit ugly 100 points or so.

i thought it was a dumb comment when i first read it, but then i thought about it.

it is very selfish for ex players to put there time and effort into playing, instead of helping out around the club.

I am sure there aren't many in the supers that have played all there life, that don't know the importance of having old boys around the club to help out. Most of the Sunshine Coast boys all come from country victoria, where old boys are the glue that keeps clubs together. If they didn't have old boys at there club when they were playing, they wouldn't have had a club, and therefore wouldn't have played.

Obviously people should be able to do whatever they want, and if running around every second sunday having a kick and a giggle gives them enjoyment, more power to them.

It is sad however that it usually comes at the expense of coming to the home games of the senior club, helping out at the bar, running water etc, as most clubs are in desperate need of volunteers.

thats what i meant

Heard Bailey (former Roo) was best on ground yesterday!!! Good to see the Roos putting up a good fight though. My predictions are another Noosa Palmy GF. Im also calling the grange are gone for 2011

Was told it was a mini lake up there at Noosa - suit the Roos but all the same, monumental effort considering the performances of the 2 sides the weekend before. The Roos lead at various times throughout the match apparently.
When i look at that Maroochy side and see guys holding down spots in it that were 2nds players at BEST last year, others who really aren't A grade players but trying their guts out, I reckon there is a massive pat on the back to Delaney their coach who has stuck fat with them all year and not let it get him down (publicly anyway). A year of going back one step to hopefully bounce fwd 2 steps next year.

Another prediction, I reckon after round 18 the final 5 will be:

Magpies
Grange
Noosa
Sandgate
Palm Beach

Not exactly going ut on a limb there magpieboy! Final 5 are more or less going to be as mentioned, have a crack at predicting after the finals! here are mine.

Magpies
Palmbeach
Noosa
Grange
Sandgate

Having played both (Magpies twice), it doesn't make sense to me how the Magpies are a 11-2 side with PBC an 8-4 side.

Must be a matchup thing as Palmy were immeasurably more impressive to me than the Magpies were.

dont measure teams on how they perform against the crap measure them on how they perform against the cream.....

Saw some photos of the Noosa Marochy game, and it's any wonder a side could kick 7 goals!Putrid conditions. Anyone get the the hawks palmy game? Must say surprised to see palmy win it given they were missing Round, Carrol, Blowes and Clark. All forwards. Didnt appear as thou Sandgate were missing much?

The tigers have a team full of quality players and in your words the Roos had a side made up of 2s players at best. In what appeared to be very wet conditions it takes a good coach to motive their players.
The Roos were obviously more stimulated by their coach and turned up to play.
The Tigers seam to be a team full of champions.

PBC are the sleeping giants. It looks as though they will probably finish 4th and can win it from there.

To clarify, that wasn't a shot at the Magpies who are obviously a very good football side - more just expressing my surprise to see PBC that low down the ladder, that's all.

Impossible for it to turn out like this. No way PBC can finish above both Sandgate and Noosa (if no one loses to a side below them on ladder) If Noosa beat Sandgate in two weeks, they finish on 3 loses, and above PBC. If Sandgate beat Noosa, Noosa have 4 loses but will have superior percentage (30% currently in front of PBC)

Interesting that Sandgate have to play 8 of 16 games against top 5 sides this year, while Grange play 5 of 16. I think the others play 6 or 7 of their 16 against the other final teams. Makes a fair bit of difference in a short season.

And Surfers are now the wild card come finals, play PBC and Grange in the last two weeks, and a win in either or both would really mix things around.

Great to see such an even comp, all of the top 5 have beaten a few of the other contenders along the way, so anyone could win in, but top 3 would be huge advantage.

Kwhit said after the finals. So it is possible.

Given they were premiers last year thats a compliment id think. You cant say enough about local rivalry. The Roos got flogged in soggy conditions by the Tigers last round. This time around they were all playing in a kids swimming pool. And to the credit of the Roos and to the delight of both supporters, they dug down, had a dip and pushed the premiers right till the end. Coaches were not to blame or be thanked, it was just a good old fassioned hard wet contest. Its was great for the Roos players and fans as well as the Tigers. They have been flogging teams the last month and were pushed. Bottom team or not, it i think it just came down to a bit more class and maybe a home game that got the Tigers up but either way both teams were great. A bit of niggle, a bit of blood, some abuse from both sides from the side lines, all in all a great local derby.
