Hello there fine chaps, I have long admired the amazing work that goes on in this section of the site, and would like to draw on your expertise to design a logo, a guernsey, and whatever the heck else you like for my AFLTM team, the Launceston Plovers.

I have no guidelines, so you can have free reign over all details, except the name :thumbsu:

The AFLTM is a very comprehensive fantasy football competition run on a sub-forum of its own in the Games section of this website. There are 18 teams, and I'm sure other teams playing may be interested in seeing designs for their clubs too...will post a link to the board

Cheers

It's a bird.

FFS - don't you know how to use Google or Wikipedia? Or haven't they taught that yet in school?

You have missed out. Trying to get close to a plover's nest was one of the great adrenalin rushes of my youth!

Seconded. Even better when someone comes out of the house where the plovers nest is telling you to get off their property :D

Over summer, yes they do. But not in Adelaide.

Now back on topic, here's a 20 second effort.

Yep..they have little spurs on the end of their wings. And are just a little bit mental..they generally nest on the ground so if anyone starts walking close by they have a go at them.

I think you'll find schools try to get you to sway away from Wikipedia :p

When I was teaching (2004-06) I would encourage the use of Google and Wikipedia. I was an IT teacher and I couldn't believe how hard it was to actually teach Year 8 students how to use a search engine.

E.g. if you ask the question "Which company created the game Pac-Man?"
Normal people would go to Google and type something like {pacman history} and see what comes up.
Students would put in {which company created the game pacman}

As for Wikipedia, it is a valid source. However it needs to be treated like any other source: it is merely one of many. That's what RESEARCH is about: find other sources that corroborate the facts, compare and contrast.

My colleagues in teaching often refer to Generation Z, or the "dot-com" generation, as the "POINT AND CLICK GENERATION". If an answer doesn't pop up with the click of a mouse, they're not interested in doing the work to find it.

Nice jumper too, Doc, except you should probably resize it to 60% of original size before posting.

On Wikipedia, I normally look at the sources on the bottom of the page if I find any useful information, and use that as my reference if I use it.

As for my attempt Omega, I know, it was just something pretty quick to attempt to get the thread on track and away from plovers. :p
