Discussion AFLW 2023: New Jumpers; Round-by-Round Discussion

It's interesting how Port wear teal and Essendon are wearing effectively a black sash on red in AFLW. Both good, commonsense designs. Kinda delegitimises the respective arguments around their mens teams' jumpers.

The all teal kit doesn’t look good though.

Richmond in their clash jumper with black shorts is a much better contrast against us compared to their home jumper with white shorts.

North in blue shorts against St Kilda in black shorts is a better looking matchup than either team wearing white shorts.

I do think though Essendon could have worn their normal home jumper last night.

I must admit from what I've seen so far this round I wouldn't be upset to see white shorts banned in the men's as well.

It's been a really good contrast this weekend. When the change of shorts policy was announced, I thought we would see coloured shorts such as yellow for Richmond etc but looks like they've been going with home shorts

West Coast without a back sponsor. V energy drink is their new shorts sponsor

After going through pre season without a front sponsor, Woodside are back for Fremantle

Hoops in the wrong order as well (although it's also wrong on the men's clash jumper, so not sure many care)
It’s an odd one because when your men’s team had the yellow clash (honestly one of the best looking Crows jumpers imo) the hoops were the right way around, and the only reason the ones on your current jumper aren’t is because it was brought in as a homage to the SA state jumper. Not sure why they’ve abandoned the traditional order this time around tbh.

Missed yesterday's game but weekly predictions:

Gold Coast: Home/Red V West Coast: Home/Royal
Port Adelaide: Home/Black V Port Adelaide: Clash/Maroon
Sydney: Home/Red V Geelong: Home/Navy
Collingwood: Home/Black V Fremantle: Clash/Purple
Western Bulldogs: Home/Royal V Hawthorn: Home/Brown

North Melbourne: Home/Royal V Carlton: Home/Navy
Essendon: Home/Black V St.Kilda: Clash/Black
GWS: Home/Charcoal V Melbourne: Home/Navy

Reckon Freo need a third jumper for games against Collingwood (for both AFL and AFLW)

AFLW side could wear pink as it’s already in their jumper colours, mens side could maybe wear a lighter purple kit

Kangan have replaced Sharp on Collingwood's jumpers

Persol have replaced Programmed on Fremantle's jumpers
