Gotta laugh at Adelaide United and the soccer people cutting up rough about the turf on social, with the usual refrain of how privileged the AFL is, as if we're not also at the mercy of what the SMA decides to schedule at random in order to maximise dollars we don't see.

If AFLX on Hindmarsh annoyed Greg Griffen then i have changes my mind on it. We should play it more often.

Apparently "taking over our facilities" is the AFL's cunning plan, to derail the runaway train that is Soccer.

Did lol heartily.

They should just shift to Marden - still wouldn't fill it.

So I assume there's going to be three aflx premiers?

Missed opportunity to get properly extreme by having the three premiers all on the field at once in a tri-team-multi-ball 90 second Premiers Premiership World Championship Royal Rumble Grand Finale

Get John Cena in there to make it a SUUUUUUUPPPERRRRSLAAAAAM

To be fair, that is ACTUALLY the plan. To have footy played on soccer and rugby pitches in places without footy ovals. The northern states being a prime example, whether it works or not is a different question.

I was going to ask, now that Crows are the Champions of the South-West Six do they move through to the ZOOPER Bowl play-offs?

That's fine it doesn't mean it needs to be played at the elite level though they could just have state league and recently retired AFL players play in exhibition mode.. it has zero traction on our shores and never will, exhibitions overseas to garner interest (hopefully in the real deal) and participation should be the only outlet for this garbage.

That has absolutely nothing to do with my reply to the quote mate.

Is there room for a short form of AFL footy that can be played on a soccer pitch?
Yes, perhaps, maybe.
Have we got the best form of this game now?
Nowhere near it.

Internationally yes, I think this concept has merit in countries that have rectangular stadiums.
A great opportunity to create feeder competitions into the main AFL.

Australia no, we already have the best format possible.

I’m watching again tonight. I’m not sure if I actually like it, or I’m so starved for footy that I’ll watch anything.

If you're starved for footy you could just watch Fox Footy at literally any other time than the time AFLX is on.

I don’t like watching when I know the score, unless it’s a Ports win.

I like the umpires looking casual. Removes some of their ego/personality. Should do it in the main stuff.

Huge difference between the sizes of the stadiums being used. Hindmarsh is 120m x 80m and Etihad is 159.5m x 128.8m. The boundaries are a bit further in from the fences at Etihad but the field at Etihad would still be over 25m wider and 30m longer.
