mate u seem to know alot about other skools so either u didnt play footy cos u werent good enough to a so called 'scholarship' or u just have know idea. ur arguements r pointless and ur out of luck at assumption cos the principle is a cokhed and i can tell u now that would b the last thing he would hand out.

you spent the time correcting spelling mistakes and yet your argument, well statement, it's hardly an argument, is still littered with mistakes... seems to me ACK are succeeding on the academic front

I am eager to know how you have arrived at the two options of "didn't play footy" or "have no idea"... would this be due to your young ignorant brain or your plain stupidity?

Without it developing into a pissing contest I played first XVIII for ivanhoe all through year 10,11 and 12 and backed up for local club matches on the sunday and had a stint down at the then Preston Knights. So obviously can/could play...

I would suggest you left out a third option, the correct option in "knows a great deal and your fighting a losing battle"... shame you and all your class mates who have recently signed up lack some serious balls and wont swallow your pride and run off with your tail between your legs...

oh yes the results of ACK vs Ivanhoe in a few weeks time will confirm that ACK hand out scholarships... a stroke of genius right there!

ACK stand up and be proud of this one! :thumbsu:

yehh i think every game will be pretty close. but probaly two biggest games will be peninsula v assumption and trinity v marcellin
who will be the big players to win these games and who are the big players missing due to vic?

Assumption travel to Peninsula tomorrow in what will be a good game. Last year in the play off for third place Assumption won by about 6 goals. Peninsula, not that long ago, were a chopping block in the AGS. Their XVIII now consists heavily of TAC Cup players and students on scholarships.

Saturday June 14 sees Ivanhoe come to Kilmore.

Chelsworthgale, you seem to know so much about Assumption football, who are these current ACK students on scholarships? Time and again you refer to these people, yet are never able to name anyone. There is a good reason for that, as no student, past or present, at ACK has been on a scholarship.

*NEWS*

New star recruit for ACK XVIII has been called up from kilmore seniors and 10B's to be a dominating on baller as he doesn't have VIC committments this week. Will surely be an impact player :)will run rings around Luke Adams:D... :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
Has been negotiating contracts with interested recruiters. will surely be drafted in top 20.

tips for this week

Peninsula v Assumption ACK

Ivanhoe v Mentone MENT
Marcellin v Trinity MARC
Yarra Valley v Camberwell YV

thoughts..

yeah i think that they might b pretty accurate however do marcellin have a full team or not?i think assumption will beat peninsula but it will b close[/quote]

Zaharakis out for marcellin. Apart from that they have a full team.

Oh Gee your right there mate.. his's a bloody gun alright runs hard and gets a least 30 tocuhes a game and uses the ball so good, this is just what i have heard but was named in the 10b and then trained once then straight in the 1sts, so should be a huge impact on ACK line up and will carve it up out there. really looking forward to watching this young star play because what i have heard he is great. so watch out big league:thumbsu:

you seem to know so much about them too, you should ask every single year 9,10,11,12 and find out who is on a scholarship... big ask, but i implore you to proceed and conduct this experiment.

As for past player... like i said before...

"If I said the name Gerald Peterson you would neither be able to confirm nor shoot that down based on the fact that you dont know who he is, what years he attended or even if he exists! Such a pointless macho post, grow up young man."

heed the advice :thumbsu:

marcellin beat trinity by 2 or 3 goals. was a good game. trinity did well and fought hard from the start but marcellin just proved too good in the end.

I have followed Assumption College First XVIII's for more than twenty years now, from Barry Young starring for the Dark and Light Blues in 1987 to Jon Henrys 201 goals in '88 to Jason Smiths all conquering undefeated side of 1990, which took out the All Australian championship. Gerard Robinsons '91 team, Ross Johns' XVIII, which contained Shane Crawford in '92, the side that flogged Ivanhoe by 120 points, to Justin Crawfords 1994 team in which Ben Dixon starred, to the 1995 side, in which comeback kid Jason Johnson was involved. Johnson did not play the previous year having left the school for another school. Geelong VFL skipper James Byrne led the '96 team which gained revenge on the now strong PEGS. Former Geelong and Hawthorn player Marcus Baldwin starred in the 1997 XVIII, as did former Carlton player Adam Pickering in 1998. Current Yea FC player Chris Leatham led Assumption in what was a struggle in 99 before the last golden era of the years 2000 - 2005, when the Dark and Light Blues won the Herald Sun Shield in 2000/01 and took out five consecutive AGSV flags from 2001 to 2005. Jason Dennis led the contingent in 2000, Eric Kuret led the undefeated First XVIII of 2001 and Ryan Crawford in 2002. Bo Nixon dominated in both of these seasons. Marcus Webb took the 2005 side to the premiership over Essendon Grammar after going in rank outsiders after being beaten by around eight goals on the two occassions they met in the AGS and Herald Sun Shield. In 2006 and 2007 the Blues faced a struggle like no other in their 113 year history. This year, 2008, the Dark and Light Blues, led by Jamie Sheahan, commenced their season with seven straight wins including one over the Ken Fletcher coached Essendon Grammar. Tomorrow, they take on the Peninsula School, heavily loaded with TAC Cup players. The spirit of the Dark and Light Blue will forever inspire Assumption College Kilmore footballers

mentone def 53 points. ivanhoe very average and mentone will be very dissapointed they didnt win by more. poor kicking infront of goal costing mentone of a larger victory.

Peninsula vs Assumption should be an absolute cracker... both solid sides who desperately need the 4 points

good luck fellas

yeah was a cracker game peninsula were cocky as and up at half time due to a 8+ goal second quater to assumption 3 late 1s. however from then on it was all one way traffic with assumptions playing after halftime to a 77pt turn around and in the end winning comfotably by 44pts... any other results?

Trinity vs Marcellin

hard fought game right through trinity really hard at it and made marcellin work hard for everything best were brown, tinney, spaz, eckersly unlucky to go down by about 2 goals stanton from marcellin enjoyed taking cheap shots on the smallest bloke on the field in the last quarter and shuey was average though was seen on the pine with severe hamstring cramp wasnt at his best

well said mate :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
assumption continuously plays against the odds and again did so today.... missing a large number of key players... defeated the peninsula blokes with great team play

peninsula are not heavily loaded with TAC cup players. they only have four and only have two that have ever played a game. so i think you have your info wrong. they played a very good game today and although they couldnt keep it up for the entire match, they showed assumption in the first 3 quarters that they are a very good team but full credit to assumption in the last quater were too good.

full credit to assumption on a good win but i hav to say ive never come across a more arrogant bunch of blokes in my life. a few of their players should be ashamed of the way they carried emsleves after the game.

i must admit shehan is a gun good luck to him in the future

team game champ
marcellin to good for trinity
the kid was hurt in a marking contest
would hardly call it a cheap shot

please get your facts right boys
peninsula have
1 top age tac cup player in alex goodingham
2 who are bottom age in josh jones and myles pitt
2 who are 16's brock osborne and joel miller
only 2 of which have played an actual tac cup game
peninsula actually lac tac cup players and should definatly have more with the likes of adams, oneil, egan not in rays
