If there is a chance a trade will not be done to get to the Pies then he sure as hell wont go into the PSD where there is a chance he will go to your rabble.Correct but Carlton can take less back on the Bell deal from Brisbane knowing that they will get Aish in PSD.
Aish is a 2 year player former pick 7. This years Draft is perceived to be weaker. The club who drafts him only has to agree to the players terms. So how did Ball last til pick 30?
Right, but then he proceeds to go on a holiday and only speaks to Collingwood prior. We leak to the media he failed a medical and no other club can then get into contact with him. Will they still take a chance if a hefty price is on his head?Aish is a 2 year player former pick 7. This years Draft is perceived to be weaker. So you don't have an answerAish is a 2 year player former pick 7. This years Draft is perceived to be weaker. The club who drafts him only has to agree to the players terms.
And you will pick up a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be there, walking out after one season. You already benched Henderson for the last 3 weeks, how is it going to look when Aish doesn't play all year after requesting a trade?Where Carlton's second pick will be before Collingwoods first.
Carlton have been told they aren't allowed to recruit anyone from Collingwood because it was getting embarrassing.Apparently Carlton are heavily into Aish so could pick him up. Not sure how it would work
I think if we can cleverly trade into late in the first round (say Sydney's pick) then I reckon we will safely get him in the National draft. Even he we cant do that I still think that we could get him with a second round pick.
If Aish steadfastly sticks to his guns and refuses to speak to other clubs then would another club actually draft him. Would Carlton take the risk on drafting a player that refuses to speak to them and doesn't want to be there? I don't believe they would (but they will huff and puff that they will to try to gt Aish to cave and speak to them).
Eddie said in his show this morning that he does not believe that Brisbane have anything against Collingwood and that it seems to be all about Aish. He said we haven't even offered anything yet so questioned Brisbane's position. He also questioned Brisbane's requests for priority picks if they are taking the position that they will let Aish go for nothing. He was overall pretty calm about it and just said if a deal can't be done then Aish will go into the draft.
He also said there is 2 weeks to ge before the end of the trade period and a lot can happen in that time.
Nice Cool calm EdI think if we can cleverly trade into late in the first round (say Sydney's pick) then I reckon we will safely get him in the National draft. Even he we cant do that I still think that we could get him with a second round pick.

I hope that Aish is aware that we won't be bending over for him either. Eddie is just returning fire with similar bluff. Would wonder what would happen if it came that far . Likely a deal will be done somehow.I think if we can cleverly trade into late in the first round (say Sydney's pick) then I reckon we will safely get him in the National draft. Too many knocks to the head
Why would you "hope" for something like that Brown? Peanut.
So you HOPE for a player to be miserable?
So you HOPE for Collingwood to miss out on a player?
So you HOPE for Brisbane to make their current player retention/attraction situation worse?
Nice going doofus.
So at the end of the day what's the difference with Redden? Apart from giving more service to the club the situation is no different.I think Leigh Matthews decided a few weeks ago that if Aish decides to leave then he's gonna make an example of it and force him into the draft unless the trade options are too good to refuse, I think Brisbane have decided that they are not gonna just be taken advantage of and Aish is gonna be the example of this

You're stetching my memory but i think that's right. I vaguely recall that a couple of clubs left the option open.Didnt Essendon take the same approach with Ball, said they would still take him even if he didnt have a medical?
