I don't quite know what to make of this one -

Dear Gentlemen,

I appreciate the cultural and personal sensitivities around hygiene and good housekeeping, however we have a serious situation and duty of care to all our staff which requires urgent action by you.

We have some people who prefer to stand on toilet seats rather than sit.

Our toilets are not designed for this and as a result, we have a number of issues with what you are doing:
1. It’s unhygienic for you to stand in shoes where your colleagues will be sitting.
2. You are breaking large numbers of toilet seats and ceramic toilet bowls/pans. Replacement is time consuming, costly and inconveniences you and your colleagues when a cubicle is ‘out of order’ for a period of time during repairs. It is also possible that you may injure yourself by slipping when standing on the toilet seat or, having the toilet seat or bowl collapse under your weight.
3. Your accuracy is diminished and you are defecating on the seats, floor & walls. This is extremely unsanitary, irresponsible and unfair to rely on your colleagues to report it and our cleaners to clean it up.

Should these issues continue, we will have no choice but to monitor the bathrooms in order to identify the offending individuals. Clearly it would be best for all concerned if we were able to avoid this and the possible associated disciplinary action.

Please note, the same principles apply to all staff in terms of good bathroom housekeeping, please:
· Ensure you flush the toilet and urinal after each use and the leave the cubicle/urinal area in a tidy manner,
· After washing your hands, place your used paper towel in the bin provided, and
· Report all faults to – ext. xxxxx.[/SIZE]

Thank you to those who are doing the right thing and have reported these issues, please continue to do so.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to any of the following:
  • Your Manager
  • A member of the P&T team
  • Your local OH&S Committee representative
  • , please call ext. xxxxx

This is the way a lot of Asians take a dump, it is feral as they often just end up going on the back of the seat.

That's the thing, my floor seems fine I haven't noticed any issues sanitary issues. I have no idea what goes on downstairs though

Should be part of a condition of picking up your visa - "how to take a shit in 'straya"

I actually remember reading something that said people are meant to crap like that, as in a squatting position

The sitting position is bad for our bowles and doesnt allow us to get maximum 'flow' etc. We use a lot more energy sitting rather than squatting also

Just something to think about

these signs (or signs to the same effect) are all over university of nsw

How bizarre. I'd be too worried about urine or fecal splash back to even attempt it

I'd be too worried about falling on my head. I don't possess cat-like balance, especially when im trying to take a shit.

We had a bunch of Chinese gyprockers up here running around doing work on Julias BER works.

It took us a little while to work out why the skid marks where down the sides of the bowls rather than the back in the site toilets. :p
