This kid is tough as nails, he was Freo's biggest highlight. He got hit and got back up again countless times. I would love him in a North jumper.

Thanks, but on a very bleak night , i'd like to hang on to him for a wee while longer.
Wish we could clone him and Barlow...

He was amazing tonight, completely amazing but he was clearly concussed and never should have been left on.
Yeah he was out of it. If Pavlich didnt get subbed i think he would have.

Top stuff from the lad!

Hated seeing him cop a battering all night, while all the other squibs on our team will wake up bruise-free and have a painfree head.

after the 3rd time he got smashed, roos was saying get him off for ffs, yet the freo brainstrust kept him on. we have already been sued for player welfare and if it doesnt happen again we are bloody lucky. get your shit together freo

This, it's ludicrous to see 1 guy getting poleaxed over and over again for doing the right thing while so many others took the easy option and just didn't bother trying.

My cup of respect for SNOS was overflowing already without having to watch him be the only guy with his heart in it in tonight's match.

In all the Freo thrashings I've witnessed over here, I've never, ever seen such a gutsy, kamakazie effort - repeatedly - from such a young player. Just about the best effort from an individual Freo player I can remember in terms of guts, courage and sheer fearlessness. I really, really hope he stays with us for his whole career, what an inspiration he is.

Exactly, really, really poor effort by our training staff, very lucky it didn't lead to a bad injury, one more knock to the head and he could have had a very nasty situation.

This. I cannot believe he was left out there when the game was so clearly long gone. Reckless bordering on stupid, especially given he is one of our key future players!

Make him our next captain. During these tough times, HE'S the one that's showed the most passion and fight. Is Silvagni the only player who cares right now? Certainly looks like it.

Well done to Silvagni. Showed true heart.

Coathangered by a NM player in a marking contest and pounded into the ground and no free kick. Disgusting. :thumbsd:

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat call.

the best captains are rarely the best players in the team, but are the best leaders and soooooooooooooo valuable.

a captain should be the one who leads by example by his actions.

to put it into context 4 Kangas fans, he was "Archeresque" tonight.

He was awesome, and fearless. I actually fear for the safety of guys like him, he was in the hands of the trainers three or four times and still got up, fought hard and played well. That has to inspire your team mates.

Quickly becoming one of my favourite players. I've got more respect for the way he plays than for most of the rest of the team put together.

Apparently it doesnt, which is sad, but its good to see opposition fans recognize his efforts. Maybe im soft, but i dont know why he was out there at the end?

That pissed me no end - not that it would have made any difference, but the principle of it.

Absolute future champion. All Aus within 2 years. Held Buddy like he was a nobody and has (in my opinion) been your only consistant player in your poor recent run. Genuine star this kid.

Absobloddylutely. That without a pre-season to speak of!! Coming back underdone into struggling team and he is the ONLY player (except maybe McPharline) who has looked and played switched on EVERY game. This guy is awesome.

Toast and toast again. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

This, unquestionable courage and is a consistent performer for such a young guy.

But really have to question the Freo match team for NOT BENCHING HIM after the hit in the last quarter. Seriously his courage is amazing to keep playing on but really, game was dead so player safety should be paramount.

This guy is showing true leadeship qualities, hates losing, and never makes excuses.Make him co-captain next year.
He is our Nick Maxwell, a guy to lead us in a new era of success.

mentioned in votes thread that his effort running back with the flight, take the mark while getting corked and then continue running to try and help the backline was the best thing i saw all night.

he is signed for next year, but id offer him a 3 year extension at the end of this year... just give him johnsons money on top of his original pay packet

Good idea, if he 's doing the job of 2 players, then give him the dosh!

Just hope he wants to stay with us, and after last nights poor effort at all levels within the team, who could blame him for wanting to go back to Victoria?

They needed to keep someone worthwhile on the field.

One of the very few people running around in the chevrons yesterday worth watching. He's a massive part of the club's future, no doubt.

I think Pav and Ballantyne were out of action by that time so they wouldn't have been able to rotate at all if he came off.

Doubt that'll ever happen after we gave him an opportunity when no one else would.

These mature agers seem to be a bit more loyal than your average spoilt first round wunderkid.
