I see this topic all over the main board, but i am really interested to see Gelong supporters opinions...

My All Australian Team at Round 16 is as follows:

FB: JOHNCOCK (ADELAIDE) SCARLETT (GEELONG) RUTTEN (ADELAIDE)
HB: McLEOD (ADEALIDE) WHITNALL (CARLTON) CLEMENT (COLLINGWOOD)
C: BRUCE (MELBOURNE) WEST (BULLDOGS) GOODES (SYDNEY)
HF:JOHNSON (BULLDOGS) THOMPSON (KANGAROOS) DAVEY (MELBOURNE)
FF: ABLETT (GEELONG) FEVOLA (CARLTON) PAVLICH (FREMANTLE)

I know i may seem biased towards Geelong, but i feel Ablett, Chappy are shoe-ins, Scarlo has been great, Milburn deserves it and the footy world are finally starting to see Corey's talents....

Abletts a definent. Although chappy has slowed down a bit latly. Milburn has been good but not awesome. Wouldnt get that spot i don't think. Corey not to sure about. He Always flys under the guard. but doesnt take games by the scruff of the neck. And Scarlo that will be interesting. It will be a hard one to chose out of Rutten and Scarlett.

Chapman and Corey won't be in there, Scarlett and Ablett are our only two genuine chances.

Between Scarlett and Rutten though i think Rutten will get it again this year, i think Scarlett is the better full-back but the way Adelaide plays makes Rutten look better than he is.

I would have thought Chapman was the only certainty.

I hate to say it but Rutten will get the full Back spot.

Ablett and Chapman would have mroe a chance that Scarlett and Coery IMO. Milburn would be our outside chances.

Corey would have got in last year well before this year.

Chapman has dropped off of late, if he picks it back up he should be in otherwise he won't.

Ablett should be in.

Scarlett should be in but Rutten will get it purely because of how well the Adelaide backline work together. Individually speaking, Scarlett is better.

They've been the two standout key defenders this season and I don't think there's any reason to say that someone like Whitnall should be in just because he technically plays CHB. Should always be the two best key defenders because they are largely interchangeable anyway.

Should be, perhaps, but rarely is.

Mal Michael can testify to that in the years gone by.

Geelong dont usually do well in the All-Australian, cause we are a pretty (cough ) even side. Gablett and Scarlo for me as the two most likely to be in. But then again who really cares, its just another award, someones opinion.. hold it up there with Mike Sheahans top 50, to be honest

See, this is what I'm talking about. There's no way Maguire has had a better season than Scarlett. They both play on key forwards every week but Scarlett has clearly had a better season. Rutten often plays CHB, so put Scarlo at FB.

I don't understand those who put Chappy in the team in front of Gaz. Chappy had a great start to the year but has tailed off. Gazza has had a super year. It's as if people are averse to putting him because of his name.

I would be very disappointed in the selectors if Ablett/Chapman didn't make it. Scarlo is in AA form, but he has some stern competition.

Scarlett, Ablett and Chappy should make AA. I dont think Corey or Milburn will.

Depends on how Geelong does, if we make a prelmin (its possible we almost did it last yr from the lower half of the 8) than we'll pretty much be guranteed at least one place. Can't really see anyone other than Chapman and Ablett getting it. Ablett been slack last couple of weeks and needs to get back to playing well or he won't make the cut. Chapman coming nicely and deserves a spot more than Ablett at this sttage.

Sorry but i dont share your same optimism as you do! But yeah anything can happen in finals (keeping in mind we make it there first ), but we gotta make a HUGE turn around in form at the moment.

I hope Chappy does make the AA side. He will definitely be in the International Rules squad to Ireland even though the paper today says the side won't be selected until after the finals.
