As the other thread has passed its deadline. Here is the post that started this questionnaire and my response

Yeah well here's a good one from just today:

I get an infraction... from one our own mods....for swearing at the above poster, who pretends to be a Richmond supporter whilst freely admitting to having held memberships for other clubs -including our most hated rival, Carlton- and says he doesn't really give that much of a stuff about the Tiges...

This same mod also tells to change my signature ...and yet the tosser referred to in my signature is still allowed to post his delusional, idiotic trolling crap on our board......yep Go Tigers...united we stand....

I was the mod and you received a minor infraction for swear filter evasion. Normally I would just send you a warning but the actually effort you went to avoid the filter ( Bolding and Italics) meant it was more than just a slip up. You only received one point which meant that you could still post. You were also asked to change your signature which you refused. I had given you a second chance but considering you decided to winge about this in this thread, I'll notify the admins and get them to change it for me. SWEAR FILTER avoidance is against the rules here.

When peejay, weaver and myself started moderating here with the consensus of the then posters we decided not to be like other boards that ban people for good natured trolling and to apply the rules fairly to all who posts. THAT INCLUDES THE OPPOSITION., parrot ,the one you have in your signature, doesn't cross the posting guidelines and when requested to take a break leaves this board alone for a while. The Carlton round 1 thread is up as a place to post crap about the blues and stuff, other threads are closed or merged into that one.

This board is watched by the admins as well and creating a thread like this just draws attention to the tigers board. I'll give you guys until 12.00 to finish this winge and then this thread will be closed and any others like it. If you have a complaint about an infraction take it to the admins they can do something about it ( or may do something) otherwise cop it on the chin.

Just remember none of us get paid to do this.

p.s If you have an issue with a post report it, and one of us will get to it and evaluate what was posted. We dont live on the board 24/7

p.p.s I think today I might do as 81 points says and follow the guidelines to the exact letter of Big Footy. What does everyone else think. Do you want me to do that, if so post below.

don't change the mood and spirit of this board just because some newbie got his knickers in a knot - i actually think this newbie is not so new anyway-but a 2nd face of another regular here.

if you start being P.C in here - most of the more colourful and regular Richmond posters in here will disappear

Quite simple really if you think before you type you wont suffer, sure at times we can all get a little worked up during a heated discussion but take a few seconds to read what you type befre hitting post reply and you are fine. Never had a problem on any of the team boards due to the fact I respect their rules. While our Mods run the board with a bit more flexibility they do act when people cross the line. Happy to leave things as they are. Will ruin the feel if we were to become like the other boards.

I reckon for a bit of fun in the offseason the tiger mods should rule the board with an iron fist for a week and then at weeks end we can see how many of us are left.

I think the mods here do a terrific job.

This board and the Essendon board are probably the best of the lot. Free speech is allowed.

It's good to allow free opinion from our supporters and other supporters, although all the crap we cop can become grating. But that's what happens when we have poor years like '07 I suppose.

The Carlton board & their mods are the worst. I've been banned from some team boards for years...ridiculous over policing. We have to remember footy is just a game and worth a laugh.

Our Mods are the best in the biz, and that is why we have one of the most entertaining boards at Big Footy.

But all board's mods need to take one element out of their game.
When a poster replies to a warning/banning etc, etc or puts their point across, it is NOT a whinge. It is the poster trying to converse. You are an Admin on a board on the internet. Yes, you are Gods here.....whoppee! But you like us are a drop in the www ocean. Take some humility pills once in a while and allow someone else to talk (which is not whinging or whining) before you lay the law down from up high.

If you look at just a small cross section of bannings, cards etc from any board, you will see that a majority of the reasons for points/cards/bannings are not even related to the incident , way off the mark, and for most part....invented.
As I said earlier, our Tiger Mods are excellent, and I've in the past, justifiable got my ass kicked when I thought I knew too much, and I needed my head pulled in. (lol....hopefully I've learnt from it).

But I think, all the posters here and at other boards just want a fair hearing (which is not a whinge, but a viewpoint) and a points deduction, card or banning that applies to the incident. If you can't bar someone by the rules......don't invent stuff. We could fill a thread over and over with childish and crazy rules. Or do we need to add these crazy new reasons for action to our existing rules? I hope not...

Anyway, we've got a great board here. Mods are great. We let fair minded opposition here. We eat the idiots, and it's all good.

Note: In reality, we are a hunted species on the other boards! Isn't that lovely.....lol.
How to fix that......stay home! We've got a cool board. The grass isn't always greener. lol

Can we change the thread title to "Khan Love In".

I agree to a point, but personally would like to see immediate closure of negative or antagonistic threads started by opposition fans - you don't have to ban anyone, just close the thread. They're just a waste of time.

But if some Tiger is stupid enough to start a thread with Tambling, Wallace or Carlton in the title then they'll attract the trolls they deserve.

Just keep on doing what what you have been doing. I like how the Richmond Mods allow a bit of healthy debate between opposition supporters. It is better than being as soft and sensitive as the Mods from the Carlton board who likes to protect their supporters from the fact that their team are no good.

But for those soft supporters amogst us. It might be a good idea to have a sub-board to this one where the Mods do come down hard on those who say bad things about Richmond.
