Just got back from Easter in SA. Banned on public infrastructure I understand. You can still display them on private property sch as the front fence of your home.

Happy to be corrected but that's what someone told me.
Your someone is spot on.

A lot wouldn't know who he is without the mention that he once jagged his way in off the back of being an IPA lickspittle.
Bloke couldn't find his own arse with both hands but somehow manages to fall upwards. It baffles me the likes of he & Scomo who are essentially psychopaths with no talent for anything beyond lining their own pockets can rise up the ranks of political parties. Probably tells you everything you need to know about politics.

He's no sure thing, but him being this close utterly mystifies me, especially with Peter Dutton's sceptre looming over the place.

BigFooty: where a bunch of posters who wouldn't vote for you under any circumstances anyway debate how "this guy" got elected like there is a palatable version.

This one is actually quite simple: he ran a poor local campaign in 2022, and ran a much better local campaign in 2025.

better campaign? or did he simply benefit from concerns/issues/fears raised by the large jewish voter block in goldstein?

and if that is true, can we credibly call that 'better campaigning'?

from my ill-informed vantage point, he hasnt changed from the obnoxious attention seeking ar$ehat he was back in 2022

He worked very hard this time around. I'm not basing my thoughts on any issue at all. But he ran the best grassroots, volunteer-involved, local campaign of any of our candidates in Victoria at least, and clearly so to my view.

Goldstein also has a significant Jewish vote, and if they're feeling unsafe under Albo, they may actually vote more for Dutton - who for all his flaws, could hardly be called anti-Semitic or lax on law and order - than normal.

That wasn't something I had considered previously.

Thanks for the explanation.

Genuine question. Do you think it reaches the average voter that he has a history of running a dishonest or at the least, disingenuous scare campaign against meaningful reform for negative gearing & capital gains tax against Shorten?

If so do you think it helps or hinders is campaign or does this kind of stuff just bypass the average voter?

I'm going off memory but I remember reading at the time that his brother was involved in real estate and helped put together his organization (the name escapes me) that toured Australia with a fear campaign targeted at retirees. I seem to remember that they unethically assembled a database of voters to target. This could all be wrong and I'm open to being corrected.

That's as genuine a question as you'll get in any question time from an opposition questioning a government. Thanks, I needed the giggle.

For those who want a serious response: I don't accept the premise of the question.

My mistake, it was franking credits and a number of ethical breaches were alleged the time in relation to his brothers assets management company and Wilson's use of official government coat of arms in promoting his stoptheretireetax website.

At the time I thought it was implemented was extremely unethical and that it was against the interests of Australia to stop what would have been a significant attempt to reform our tax system.

I apologize if you think I'm arguing in bad faith, that's not my intention. You are well informed about politics and in particular the Victorian Liberal Party. I genuinely want to know if people remember this stuff and if, in your opinion it influences their votes in a negative or positive way.

I could never vote for someone who appears so self interested and prepared to get down as low as it takes to achieve outcomes that I believe are not in the public interest. I want to know if I'm in the minority or if this stuff just doesn't penetrate the consciousness of the average voter.

My view of the franking credits debate is there was plenty of disingenuousness and misinformation to go around. It's a tax refund with a different name.

The only people I know who would bring this up would be party people who would remember the role the issue played in an election win fondly. No one I know outside politics has ever brought it up with me. The issue itself was somewhat niche so it may not have had a realistic opportunity to cross over into mainstream consciousness.

grassroots, volunteer-involved
Jeez - how does that sort of person get people willing to work for him for free?

Well, I suppose I do get it. Gift of the gab plus Atlas resources.
