He isn't my leader. I vote for the Coalition because they are more aligned with my views. Labor are further away and the Greens are extremists determined to see us live like Third World countries.
The Coalition isn't right wing enough for my liking. We need a Tea Party in Australia.

I don't see how a degree at Edith Cowan has the same value as that at UWA.

We should look at ways that the concept of value be introduced to education to be respectful of the student and the tax payer who pay for the service and respectful of the universities that provide a superior education outcome. This price signal will help make better decisions and promote competition into the sector.

If done properly, we should see more universities in the top 100 universities globally and may see a top 10 representation.


then again some aren't interested in better services, better education outcomes, value etc; as there is no better value than free shit.

Depends on the degree, if you get a job in your chosen field then it doesn't matter where the education comes from

In fact it was not until over twenty years after the family had arrived in Australia as subsidised assisted migrants that Tony Abbott’s parents applied to register his birth with the Dept. of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs and apply for his citizenship, in a document/s dated 19 June 1981.

This application appears to have been treated as urgent by departmental staff.

His parents were subsequently informed in a letter dated 1 July 1981 that Anthony John Abbott was now deemed to be an Australian citizen under Section 11 of the Australian Citizenship Act 1948 which allowed citizenship by descent.

At this time Tony Abbott was 23 years and 7 months of age and, had either applied for a Rhodes Scholarship or was intending to apply for this scholarship to study at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

Currently such applications must be applied for after 1 June in the year a Rhodes Scholarship is on offer.

To gain a Rhodes Scholarship an applicant has to be an Australian citizen and have been resident in Australia for at least five of the last ten years.

I was thinking that, and I took about fourteen years to finish my degree. When I started it Yugoslavia was a one country, albeit not for much longer, when I finished it, it was about seven countries.

Did you ever look into the life of Albert Einstien? He was tool, the bluntest in the shed. Didn't treat his wife very well, thought blacks were sub human. Though he thought he could lecture everyone else. Yet his academic qualifications were crazy high.

Anyway, Tony Abbott volunteers on mission in Queensland every year. We know what he stands for. Eisenstein was a self confessed man of peace who moved to the biggest war monger there was and blamed religion for all the deaths from weapons science developed.

As it stands a Shorten led ALP would crush an Abbott led Coalition. Politicians might crap on about having the countries best in interest at heart, but if pursuing their agenda means losing their jobs at the election, no way will they let that happen. Whatever happens on Tuesday Abbott is dead.

I didn't think it was possible for there to be a worse public speaker - a worse public speaker - than Julia Gillard. Tony Abbott is not Labor -he is not Labor, but his mannerisms - his mannerisms - and particularly his maddening habit of repeating each sentence -ah- repeating absolutely each and every sentence - makes me want to kill myself.

A 250km round trip to uni each day is not cheap, so the scholarships went to travel and books and the like. I didn't get a cent from my dad, I actually put all my youth allowance into his account each week just to help him keep afloat (the divorce was horrible) while I worked a couple of days a week just to have something in my bank. I dont drink, or smoke, a while i was at uni i didnt even get a car because i couldnt afford it. If it wasn't for the scholarships I would have never been able to go to the uni I did. HECS is something to weigh up when applying, a big reason I apllied for my course because it was relatively low cost. Growing up in a family drowned in debt and struggling, I didn't want to find myself heaping on a huge HECS when there is no guarrantee it will help me earn more.

Australian politics is pathetic.

I don't like Tony Abbott, but if he is knifed that will make it three democratically elected Prime Ministers in a row that have been knifed for an unelected leader. I don't think that should be able to happen unless under extreme circumstances. If you want to change leader there should be an election. The first time it was funny, now it has gone beyond a joke. Both the liberal and labour parties are pathetic.
