Just re-watched Game 4 of the 1993 NBA Finals (Bulls vs Suns) and there's no way that Pippen was better than Barkley. Barkley, like Jordan was a one man offense as well as the guy that just pulled off the big plays.

I find it hard to imagine that was ever in question

With my next pick I select Dave Bing. Another player that fell too low in my opinion

Career averages of 20.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 6.0apg. Bing along with Dennis Johnson will provide scoring and playmaking off the bench.

Doesn't look like anything has changed with the Pistons crowds...

For my backup PG, I'm taking Nate Archibald:

Wait, what?

****ing Google kids...

Nate "Tiny" Archibald:

Much better.

18.8 points and 7.4 boards over 14 seasons. 6 time All-Star, 1 time champ.

Lead the league in scoring (34) and assists (11.4) in only his 3rd year.

One of the quickest and most agile players in NBA history.

and then he copped an injury. unfortunately for you, you picked the injury plagued hill ;)

Hahah if you will notice the pic of Hill is him in his Detroit uniform when he was boss. Pre ankle. He would have been an all time great, sad what happened to him.

OK, first up I'll take a consumate team man and a guy that will play whatever role is required off the bench.

Dave Cowens

Hall of Famer, 7 x All Star, League MVP, a couple of titles and career averages of 17.6 ppg, 13.6 rpg, 3.8 apg, 0.9 bpg, 1.1 spg.

OK, for my last pick I'm going to have a bit of fun with a guy that maybe none of you would have picked.

The person that Michael Jordan invited to induct him into the Hall of Fame. Yep, MJ's hero. A guy that I think is the equal to Drexler and 'Nique. (there, I said it!).

David Thompson

The person that invented the term 'vertical leap'. Apparently he could take a penny off the top of the backboard with his 42" (107 cm) vertical leap.

He also had career averages of 22.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.3 apg and is in the Hall of Fame.

I'll post my full team in a little while but Pistol Pete and David Thompson on the court at the same time? That'll sell some tickets..

I need another wing to round out my team. So in keeping with my (unintentional) theme of picking no one that has played during this millennium, I'm taking Alex English!

alex-english.jpg

21.5 points, 5.5 boards and 3.6 assists per game over 17 seasons.
8 time All Star.
Scoring champ. Actually the NBA's most prolific scorer in the 80s.
13th on the all time scoring list.

Also he's a current Kings assistant, to keep Stiffy_18 happy.

C - Hakeem Olajuwon
PF - Charles Barkley
SF - John Havlicek
SG - George Gervin
PG - Oscar Robertson

Bill Walton
Elvin Hayes
Alex English
Sam Jones
Nate Archibald

Luke Walton

With my next pick, I'm taking a Knickerbocker. (god what has the world come to? :o)

BernardKing1.jpg

Ten on the swagmeter.

In all seriousness, Bernard King was a great scorer in his prime but knee injuries ruined his explosive style in '85. Career averages of 22.5ppg, 5.8rpg and 3.3apg. He averaged 28.4ppg at age 34 in '91 even after blowing out his knee six years earlier.

King was the first guy that I can remember that came back from an ACL and was an All Star again. I seriously considered King as well.

Back then an ACL recon was major career ending surgery for a lot of athlete's.

i hate u nbaman1, he was who i was going to select.

Oh well.

With my next pick i select.....

Bill Laimbeer
