Joe Root- 4594 runs @ 52.80, 15 wickets @ 48.06. Absolute steal for the 15th round.

Good pick ... I had him in my thoughts but didn't jump.

Mike Procter. 41 wickets at 15. Only played 7 tests but figured he'd have probably been a reasonable cricketer if not for apartheid. Small matter of 48 first class centuries as well.

Very happy with my team.
- The opening partnership is probably the weak link, which is saying a fair bit considering Haydos is one of the best opening batsmen of all time and Hanif is solid.
- The middle order is - in my opinion - the best of all teams with two players significantly above the average of 55.
- Sobers is a pretty handy player himself and widely considered to be the greatest all-rounder of all time with a huge batting average and a fifth bowling option.
- The bowling is a strong point, with a fearsome opening partnership of Lillee and Garner which will shake the top orders of other teams. This is before the Bradman of bowling comes on with an average of 16.43 and the spinning duo of Murali and Sobers will consistently knock over the tail.
- The reserves are handy but hardly needed with the superstar team before us.

I'm not sure we are going into that detail?

Just saying, if you picked, hypothetically - I don't know why anyone would do this but let's just imagine someone did - a sobers type who bowled two kinds of delivery. If you said 'he's there exclusively to bowl spin' but his average bowling spin was 50 compared to an average in the 20s when bowling pace, then it would be a slight compromise to the integrity of the side to then list his average when bowling pace.
Sangakarra's average was about 20 less with the gloves than without them so if he is picked in that role it's at least worth noting.

Look, when there's such a big disparity I'd rather have it at 40. Alternatively you could give the gloves to Walcott.

So I assume AB's average is now 58, Bairstows 51 and De Kock 54 then?

You need to lay the rules out before the draft, not after it. Or else I wouldn't of used the second pick in the draft on him.

I'm not going to conspire to the fact that Sangakarra became a 20% better batsman just because he dropped the gloves, it probably coincidently aligned with him becoming, you know, a better batsman as he got older.

You sound like you're taking this harder than you need to.
