Got a really good feeling about this kid. Going to be a star. Not scared to take the game on and has great pace. Was best afield on the weekend in the VFL. Hopefully he gets another senior gig soon.

Thoughts?

Couldn't agree more. Didn't look out of place when he played in the Seniors and will play a role in Cats teams of the future...a future that may be closer than we think.

Has pretty decent bloodlines too. A couple of AFL (VFL you know what I mean) uncles combined with a bit of Rioli if memory serves me right.

No wonder the kid shows a bit of talent.

Remember watching a VFL praccy match at Casey at the start of last year and just saw him baulk, pause, dodge and then dish out the ball in heavy traffic to a team mate and thought that he's a keeper for sure.

Hasn't been overawed in his AFL games either which is no doubt pleasing the coaches.

Saw the vfl game on Sunday and have to agree this kid will be a star. Has looked more than competant and comfortable at the higher level too so far and think he is going to be hard to keep out of the senior side soon more regularly. Probably well suited to the sub role right now, but I would like to see him given more game time to see how he handles it. We need guys with a bit more pace and be interesting to see if he plays vs Pies.

Given the injury to Hunt and the bye yesterday provided a great opportunity and is great to see Christensen was just about our best again. Hope he gets back in.

If he was BOG in the VFL, i was watching a different game. I like what he did in the AFL, but too many of his possessions were ineffectual. Also, he has no left foot at all and did 3 banana kicks instead which resulted in direct turnovers.

On the positive, seems to bust a gut out there, but dam he is small. You need to be a pretty special player to make it at his height and without linebreaking speed. So i see him as having a pretty big challenge ahead.

I sort of agree with this. I think Christensen has shown great signs but the odds really are against him in the modern game.

Not impossible of course.

I really hope he grabs some tapes of Sam Mitchell and tries to clone him. From what i saw last year to seeing him now, he has really improved. I also think, despite his playing style that suits contested football, that he will be one of those guys much better in the 1s than the 2s. He needs speed around him so he can feed the handballs out and play that inside game, whilst in the 2s he is forced to play both roles which i dont think he is suited to. Im looking forward to seeing him after another 2 preseasons.

As long as he works his arse off and leaves no stone unturned he's gonna give himself every opportunity. I'd handcuff him to Selwood and say "whatever he does, you do"

I've been happy with what I've seen from Bundy this year. I don't rate him anywhere near as highly as Duncan and Menz yet, that's not a slight on him it's just to say what special talents the other two look like and they look like they've played 100 games not 20 with some of their confidence and composure.

Bundy certainly has a lot of raw talent and has improved a lot since he got here based on what I saw last year as compared to what I'm seeing now. Loved seeing some of his tackling and commitment against Sydney because the defensive side of his game was always a question mark I had initially.

He's obviously got to keep improving but he's tracking in the right direction and he has loads of talent. If the attitude's right, which it seems to be, I think he'll definitely become a very good AFL player.

And then to Jimmy Bartel.

We will have the ultimate clone.

Superman.

Didnt stop Nahas or Blair....just to name 2.....he can make it if he works on his skills and continues with his enthusiasm and development as an inside player. The more times he is exposed to the big time, the more he will learn what he needs to do....

HE didn't look out of place in the seniors IMO.

I know we have a good depth of talent but I'm surprised we didn't find a way to keep him in after the Sydney match - I thought he was excellent and very influencial at critical times.

He looks a natural footballer, gets to the right spots and seems to make good decisions and has decent skills.

Having said that, natural footballers tend to contribute early in their careers in a stronger way than your more athletic types that need to learn the game.

Put it this way, if he wasn't contributing from day 1 you would be concerned because his upside is limited.

I have been impressed with his output thus far but I don't think I can see an AA gong or anything like that in his future. Bundy's lack of real athleticism and/or height is likely to hold him back from being a star, but he will be a solid contributor. And there is certainly nothing with that.

Not saying that Bundy is Greg Williams or anything, but he certainly didnt have great athleticism and or height, but he made it throught 12 odd years ok.. He might even have a bit of mongrel in him too...

Of course, the game was a bit different then but hopefully you'll see my point...;)

GO Catters...

These 2.
There are not many stars in the game at any one point. And it's a huge stretch to put that 'potential' tag on Christensen

I think that's the issue right there mate. Your definition of a star is Judd or Ablett I take it. Mine happily sits with the many AA's we have in the side and guys like Trav who excite the hell out of you at a footy ground.

Christensen kicked a great goal on the weekend, and shows to me he will have that excitement factor in his game too. Star quality perhaps rather than a bona fide star of the game is what I should have said.

I didnt realise our definition of what constitutes a star had to be identical for you to understand my post. Then again hopefully this doesnt start some drawn out conversation where I have to justify the use of the word "star" or something.

Recently I suggested Mitch Brown could be given a go as a sub, to get him a senior game soon. After seeing him on the weekend I have no doubt this could be arranged given the right opposition. Funny how you can get drawn into ridiculous chats then defending basic footy chat in here. Thankfully I am quite busy today, so you're on your own ;)

Please justify the use of the word 'star'

haha, sorry no can do. I think you and Ammo need to get back to squaring off at each other. Its leaving you both far too much time to get into chats that some of us just dont think are worthwhile at all. :thumbsu:

Bye now.

VC and I are on very good terms.

And by "chats that some us just don't think", you mean you.;)
