Took the Swans over with their list in tatters (as many know) made the finals (semis) in my first season.

I decided to rebuild.
I traded players for many draft picks. I also traded for Jonathon Brown and Nick Reiwoldt.

I started in 2002.
I made the finals in 2002.
Missed in 2003.
6th in 2004.
Runner up in Grand Final 2005
2006 (so far)
Won the Preseason comp undefeated (by 150 points)
I am 4-0 so far this season.
My odds for the flag at seasons start were $2.
I have won three games by over 80 points and one by 15 points.
I am sitting in first on the ladder.

I reckon I have done a great job!
I have one guy, Lindsey Walton (got robbed of the Rising Star Award). I drafted him, he is 20 and is getting 25 possession games game in game out (average 20 possessions in his first season).

My defense was previously ****. In fact I have been in the top 8 worst defenses so far in every year (last year was my best). This year I am in the top 4.
I have 4 players who have max stats on defense. And two others that are 1 off max stats (will go up next year no doubt).

My team is brilliant, I should win the flag this year. I will report back on my progress.

I dunno Mase, I find that when I play the Swans in the first season they are easily the 2nd best team behind Essendon. I always make the GF, before losing to the Bombers.

And I would like the bloody multi season option to stop stuffing up during trade week! I even re-downloaded the whole program and installed from scratch. I can't get past that stage

I found them to be competant when I played the Swans in their first season. But I saw problems especially with their age and all.
So I have drafted well. I traded Ball to the Saints for their first round pick, he lasted one year then retired and I got a decent player for that pick

I have also drafted a few guns that will see me do well in the future (and right now :D).

I have lost some players though. Michael O'Loughlin refused to re-sign a couple of seasons ago, now he is with the Saints ;)
I traded Ben Matthew and Matthew Nicks to Brisbane for Jonathon Brown.
And I traded Seymour and someone else and maybe a draft pick for Reiwoldt.

:D

I went through the season undefeated.

I went from the 2002 side, and I completely changed the side, rebuilding with high draft picks and new draftees.

My highest score was 41-26-272 for the whole season (saints, I think they got about 56)

My FOR at seasons end was around 3600 best in comp. My against was also the best in the comp in at around 1700 I think.

In all, from the start of the season to the finish (inc preseason) I won 30 straight matches :D

Going Great Guns

I've got it installed on my computer at work (don't tell my boss), so I only get an hour at the end of the day to play it (after she's gone).

I'm up to round 14 or so in the 2002 season (i only got this game recently). I'm playing as Carlton, and have been defeated twice. I was given an almighty shellacking by Essendon (Lloyd kicked 11 goals) and i just lost to St. Kilda by three points. I'm second on the ladder (behind the bombers)

Kouta won me a game playing in the ruck, then went down with a cruciate ligament. Out for 23 weeks.

I lack ruck quality - Everitt was the bastard who won the saints game because my rucks are ****. I also lack quality defenders - I'm playing all sorts of idiots at CHB.

Looking forward to the trading period, as i do not imagine that I will do too well in the finals.

I love this game.

I find the eagles are VERY crap in the first year, both careers i have with them(the first one stuffed up at first brownlow so had to start again) i have got the wooden spoon with them:( Lions won the premiership.

After that year i heavily traded, taylor retired, i traded carroll harding merenda, seirakowski, etc and i picked up reiwolt, delsanto, spriggs, sinclair, and a lot of others i can't think of right now. Also picked up 2 more first round draft picks and one or 2 second and third round, think i had 8-9 overall. In that second season i finished third, lost to Essendon in the preliminary, and then they lost to the bulldogs(who played the dockers:eek: in their preliminary) in the Grandfinal, so Dogs premiers.

So far in the third season i again traded a bit, but not as much, and made 4 draft selections. Dockers won the pre-season and in the season 5 rounds in i am 6th. with 3-3 record.

Does your version of Footy Fanatic use the afl.com.au counting system ;):D

BTW, i've so far played 2 different careers with the eagles. the first one i only played 2 seasons simulating through all the games to get a feel for the off-season. In this one the Eagles came 7th. I traded very well (who doesn't in this game - its not too hard to do so when the opposition accepts Michael Collica and David Haynes for Johnothan Hay, while the Dogs accept Sierakowski and a 3rd round pick for Nathan Brown). Second season came 4th.

Now i've taken control of the eagles and haven't played too much yet - haven't had the chance. Played pre-season with a 1/2 record. Richmond (i think??) won the pre-season. And i lost the first game of the year to the Demons at the MCG by 100 points

I've noticed the eagles have great problems travelling and are nearly unstoppable at home (just like real life :))

i'll keeps ya's posted.

One of my games (playing as the Dons of course) I went through the season losing only 1 game and winning the premiership with ease. Next game I was crusing before injuries hit at the wrong time (sound familiar?) and without D. Fletcher in the GF, Barry Brooks kicked 7 goals to give Port the premiership. One consoling factor was that Lloydy won the Brownlow, after kicking 160 goals in 23 games (including finals). Unfortunately I've been unable to continue either seasons due to glitches

My Career(s)

I think I'm adicted.

First few seasons all fell apart (mainly as Hawks), due to programming difficulties, so I re-installed from scratch, and have had (ahem) rather decent success.

2002:
Won the first 2, lost the next six, then won 8 or so, before scraping into 8th spot (on percentage, despite 3 100+ losses). Beat whoever, then played Bulldogs (who are FAR too good), and somehow won, before meeting Essendon in the prelim (ooh...the memories...<shudder>) Won by 2 points, with a last minute goal (8 to 1 in 4th qtr), with a free kick count 32 - 4 in my favour. Faced the blues in the GF (how wrong could they be!), and won by a mile.

2003:
Traded for Judd, Kerr, Ball, Riewoldt, Brown, and the top 3 picks in the draft. Run with like 34 players. Unbeaten all season, till rd.22, against St.Kilda (who had 6 of my 2002 players and were coming last), who beat me by ten points (their 3rd win). Went through the finals without a problem. Premiership #2.

2004:
Traded for Brooks, Pavlich, Longmuir, Ottens, Rodan, and the 1st, 2nd, and 4th picks in the draft. Gave up Crawf. (Still comp's best player at that point). Won premiership #3 with percentage over 400.

2005:
Salary cap trouble hit, and lost Ottens, Kerr and Ball for no return, while also losing Ladson and Lonie. Traded a heap of players away for top 4 picks, and played with a list of 32 (and 2.1 million in cap room). Premiership #4, despite having 22 fit players on 3 occassions.

2006:
Quite trading period, only off-loading the older players, and the #2 pick from 2003 draft (McEndree - rating 82). Picked up the usual top-2 picks, and also Kerr (again.) Also got some 'medium' players including a steal, (Gave up Hay, round #4, round #5, got McPhee, Cupido, #2, and someone else. Premiership #5, with percentage of 499.

2007:
About three weeks since I last played, and currently 19-0, playing my worst 22 at all times.

My biggest worries is that I lose 2-3 players every season at contract time, so I run with less than minimum squads, however it's far too easy to win all the time.

Also the Bulldogs are far too strong. Their odds (and skills) suggest a low-to-mid table finish, yet they constantly finish up the top. (3 2nds, 2 3rds).

Other clubs, I've found that Bulldogs the easiest, and probably Kangaroos the hardest (after 2002, they go downhill very quickly).

We have a winner :D

I was runners up in 05
won 06 07 and 08
5th in 09 (horrid injury run, basically my whole forward line was out)

The game is good, but the AI in tradin time is very ordinary. Too easy to trade for gun players giving crap players.

In the off-season between 02-03, i traded for Riewoldt, Ottens, Hay, Brown, Solomon (who is rated 90/100), Peverill and someone else and lost the likes of Embley, williams etc,. (basically no one with a rating above 65).

I lost 11 players and got 7 who were all rated 80+.

After 4 games i'm undefeated.

Have you been cheating? You know, dabble with the player editor and get every player's ranking up to 99? Or how about Ctrl Alt Del during matches where it looks like you won't win by over 200 points?

i never quit during a match once and no player had their rating maxed out

hird and jason johnson got upto 87-97 skill points but no one got to 99

and its easy to trade
