He’d also be a shoe in for most improved?

From where he and Milwaukee came from and the expectations placed upon them from the media at the beginning of the season, he would be a leading candidate for MIP.

In the latest ESPN Awards Watch released today, Bogut is 4th in the DPOY, 4th in the MIP and was heavily considered at number 10 in the MVP race.

Maurice Brooks, the writer says:

I admit, I was late getting on the bandwagon of the Bogut-led Bucks. Now the league's second-leading shot-blocker (2.51) is a DPOY and MIP candidate, and I even thought about putting him at No. 10 for MVP.

And to top it off, the poll for this week is "Should the Bucks' Andrew Bogut be included in the MVP Watch?" (of which currently 27% say yes).

Good to see Bogey finally getting recognition. Bucks have been beasting of late, if they get Boston in the first round, look out. Bogut destroys Perkins, and they have the defenders (Mbah a Moute, Illyasova) to stay with/trouble Pierce and Garnett.

Kaman showed what Bogut lacks if he wants to take that next step.

mid range jumpers!

Hes playing good, especially in the defensive end. Hopefully he starts to show different moves like pump faking as teams are starting to catch onto his lefty hook.

And that's when he switches to the righty hook.

He doesn't necessarily need to develop a mid range jumper but if he did it would make him as close to un-guardable as a center can possibly be.

I am overstating the un-guardable thing but you understand my point that not a lot of centers could handle him.

Didn't he shoot a few 3's in international comp? Not sure if it was at the Olympics or just beforehand. He does have the potential to hit the outside shot.

yes he did. probably one of a few who could hit at that range consistently for the team.

he prob doesnt do it in the A cause he doesnt need too.

I think he's hit a handful of threes in the NBA. He shoots a set shot, so he won't be able to get it off in all situations, but there is no reason he can't add that 18-foot Tim Duncan bankshot to his arsenal.

When he first came to the league was predominately a face to the basket player and ha no real storng back to thebasket post moves. This has devoloped over the last two seasons and really flourished this year. With success he has had back t the basket he has just about all together eliminated that short to mid range shot he actually is quite capable with. Now days only pulls it out every 3 or 4 games but actually hits quite a good %. I agree though when i was watching the Clip game i did think wow imagine if Bogut uses this more and hits it a decent clip he would be an even bigger beast.

21, 11 and 2 blocks today. Despite the numbers he was pretty awful though...easily his worst game since before Chirstmas id say. Didnt hit the glass hard was timid on offense..lucky to get the win thanks to Fish, Jennings and Ersans tenacity but dont be fooled by Andrews inflated stats..the game went 58 minutes.

He looked gimpy.

Although great to see Jennings and him working the p and r to perfection on 3 occasions.

First three times has been used since November aswell..hopefully will convince Jennings to go to it more. I noticed he was limping a little for a while there..i saw him go up for a board and land awkwardly and then struggled afte that for the next ten to fifteen minutes. Interesting to see what minutes he plays tomorow depending on the game situation.

Why?

He may have played poorly but he still put up the numbers, that's impressive.
