Just wondering if anyone knows whats happening with Andrew Browne? Obviously he is a near certainty to be delisted at seasons end (barring any miracles for him). I think I saw something weeks ago about him being out due to personal reasons. Is this why he is still not playing for the Tigers? If he is still out for personal reasons he must be having some serious issues of some kind. Hope all is ok with him because I know he is a very popular and well liked guy around the club

Nobody has a (credible) clue.

Yep.

It would seem so.

Yes probably.

He was. He had a great heart and attitude. Showed glimpses when fully fit (rarely) and would have been a great midfield/fwd flanker player if he came good. His time is up now.

Right... so the first time in his career he might actually provide a use, he runs off.

Showing great character, if true.

I can guarantee you that this is a load of crap.

Plus if he was giving it up to focus on studies - he would still be running around for Claremont.

There is something bigger in this you would think, however it does not concern us ...he will not come into calculations for us again and he will be delisted/retire.

We picked him for depth and it did not pay off - end of story.

Chops the guy is of outstanding quality, however if you want to believe a NMelb fan with a join date of May - feel free.

Pluis Big Kev - not his style.

Is he not finished up? It's kind of like a retirement without annoucing it.

It is.

I'm back home in August, I'll have a few ales with some mates and see if anyone knows.

liked browney bit sad how things have turned out for him.
Goes an plays in WAFL does everything u want from a player trying to make the team lots of possesions 1 of teams best players but then either due to injuries or just couldnt make the step up to AFL struggled to get games.

Would be interesting to find out if he was overlooked by coaches in favour of rookies or if he got injured again an said stuff it i cant do this anymore.

Hence the big "if".

He would have been told to leave much earlier if he had lost the passion 2 years ago.

There wouldn't have been any reason to keep him around. You wouldn't imagine they would have kept him after last year if he didn't know what was going on, and would have had to be willing. Which is what makes it disappointing how this has played out.

honestly, if he is going to retire, why would he not do it now? maybe he wont get paid the full amount of his contract if he does? i mean honestly, if he retired now, we would be able to elevate another rookie for free (if we wanted to) so where is the benefit for freo in not just telling him to retire :confused:

We kept him for depth and it has been a bad call - but the thing I like about Harves is his mistakes are at the bottom end of the list management (Browne, Mark J). I fhe keeps the early rounders and our recruiters obviously ahve an eye for talent late ....we will be in good shape.

Praying Sibbo boots 5 today - apparently he is looking more comfortable as a WAFL player. If he can become a target - Claremont may well get on top of the Sharks today in the midfield and the big fella may just break out soon (or maybe my WC mate is just being nice to me)

Kev unless we know the circumstances it is all just conjecture.

Plus we are hardly lacking spaces on the list for rookies to get a game?
