there has been a fair bit of talk about who will play on mark williams this weekend. most have said karl norman is the man as he is the most suited with pace and hight and is regarded as a defender (shut down matera last year)

how about we try andrew walker on williams. same height, similar pace. walker has been developing his defensive skills with some tagging roles (in the midfield).

IMO he would be worth a shot on williams, he would be able to match williams in most area's. this will also allow walker to play a full 120 mins and further develop his game.

i know we drafted walker as a midfielder, but really we have nothing to lose by trying something different.

No. Walker looked all at Sea when Cooney went forward in Darwin.

He should tag Hodge who kicking skills are very damaging and cut us up last time.
Carrazzo to play tight on Mitchell (is he playing this week?) and try and run off him when the Blues have the ball.

I really hope Norman gets the chance he deserves...

I agree in the sense that he gets a chance to play.

What we dont know is if he is "deserving" of that opportunity in the way he has presented himself this year and his overall maturity & improvement as a carlton footballer & person overall.

There is no doubting his scope for improvement as a player, & lets hope he gets it together, but as a loyal supporter you hope that the reason he hasnt been playing isnt due to a poor mental state or unproffesional approach to his footy / training.

It would be a damn shame for him to drop off the scene as we have invested a fair bit of games, time & resources into the bloke & it would be an absolute waste if we didnt see a return on that investment.
If he was traded / de-listed at this years end his trade value would be almost non existant & a total waste of the clubs time.

Come'on Karl, get it together I'd bet there isnt one true Bluebagger out there that doesnt belive you have the ability to be a good player for the club - give us something to look forward to from you in 2006.

We need to let Walker play his natural game until the end of the year. Let him loose and give some freedom and responsibility like the Bulldoge did to Cooney this time last year. Remember Cooney's last 5 games, he played his natural game and got heaps of touches and his starring this year.

Also, unleash betts, Simpson (look at his last 2 games), Waite, Russell, Smith (if promoted), Blackwell, Carrazzo and Bentick. Let Lappin, Kouta, Camporeale, Houlihan and Stevens take a flank, pocket, wing or run-with roles and lets see how our kids go. Our best footy has been played when we share the ball and get near 300 disposals a game as the kids know how to do this game plan.
