I would be inclined to trust your opinion on this one. I'm in Melbourne at the moment & had just switched the car radio to SEN when the caller in question phoned & my immediate thought was "not that old chestnut again."

No chance you'll be moving to Melbourne on a more permanent basis Gummo?

Don't know anything but if I may, I'd rather not deal with the oil humping arabs.

That comment really pisses me off ...

I am from a middle eastern background but those comments although maybe said in jest, really hit a raw nerve ..

It's hard enough to deal with atypical 'terrorist' steroytypes as it is, but I am also sick of all these oil/camel humping jokes/insults directed against middle eastern people.

Also a very high profile Carlton supporter, and potentinal future Carlton President, Ahmed Fahour, is president/chairman of the National Australia Bank.

Would you call him an 'oil' humper ??

Considering I've struck a nerve i do apologise. Nothing was meant of it but obviosuly to some it may have been offensive and for that I'm sorry.

Are you for real cp??? You obviously haven't had to grow up in this country as the son of a European immigrant and still to this day cop the old barb or two. HTFU!!!

Hope its Sony, AIG or even Pepsi i dont really care more sponsers the better:thumbsu:

Warning!!! Red Flag!!! Achtung!!!

From Carlton's perspective the most important feature of a sponsor is to make sure they pay up and that may be difficult in the current financial climate.

I'm afriad the "Jihad Stadium" nickname has already stuck. I've heard a fair few people day it in public.

Personally, i see nothing wrong with it - it's just taking the piss. But to each their own...

I've got no issue with the nickname - I use it more frequently than Etihad Stadium - but that's clearly taking the piss. When you write you'd rather not deal with Arabs period, then that's a different issue altogether.

Like i said before what i said was meant to be nothing untoward to anyone of Middle Eastern appearence as I do have my fair share of mates that are from Middle East backgrounds. But for anyone who took it as offensive like CP and yourself and anyone else I am sorry.

Honestly I could not care less who we 'deal with' as long as it goes to benefit the Carlton Footy Club.

Don't worry - it's all cool. Happens to the best of us.

When the sponsorship with the Dome was announced, I was accused of being racist against Muslims/Arabs for having a light hearted dig, when I am one myself. :o

I have heard many people calling the dome "the mosque" now. I can't see anything wrong with that just a bit of humor.
