I said the same thing the last time I caught a blue manna crab. :)

One thing with Harvey and the respect Bomber supporters have for him, it might swing a few of your mob toward having a soft spot for us.

any time u beat the e-girls your my 2nd fav team :D

I've always had a soft spot for them, because of the ties with the Bombers. Remember when you first started & we had the Thurgood trophy, the little cannon? Also because of "Budgie" & Daniher, really you guys are a little extension of the Bombers, except in purple.

Budgie has a score to settle with Sheedy, just like Kickett (Derrick) has. I reckon between them nothing would be more more satisfying than seeing one of their favourite (Essendon's) sons dismantle Sheedy and his game plan.

From my perspective we owe the Bombers big time. ;) 2003 !!!

Funny how people like seeing westcoast eavles lose. On that note Sydney are my 2nd favourite team at the moment:thumbsu:

Budgie doesn't harbor resentment towards Sheeds, he knows it was a touch & go decison, unlike Kickett who was ripped off big time, if it hadn't have been for his performances in the previous games, the Bombers wouldn't have been in the GF. It really saddens me that Kickett hates the Bombers now, I have told him I wish he could put it behind him, because Bomber supporters love him & would love to see him back at the club for functions, he won't even attend the WA Bombers functions.

You are on personal terms with these guys then. OK.

Not knowing any of them myself but following the goss over the years what you say about budgie is true as well as your feelings about Kickett are universal.

I should not have mentioned it. It makes me sad.:o

Yep I hope he stirs up a hornets nest, by getting into quite a few players ears.

As said by Ralph, if he can help get the players not having their lapses and help improve the team by 5% that is great. I look at it as a 12 point turn around, instead of your opponent having the ball, you grab it and go forward. How many games are decided by less than 12 points?.

At the risk of sounding like a woulda coulda shouda , in 2005 if we were

1 point better every game we would have been 8th
2 points better every game we would have been 7th
6 points better every game we would have been 6th
7 points better every game we would have been 5th
8 points better every game we would have been 4th
9 points better every game we would have been 4th

So a 2 goal improvement will have me in raptures.

My point exactly Rip, we only need a small improvement to move up into the top 6 teams group. We just need to get rid of the 5 minute brain fades.

But yeh, coulda, woulda, shoulda ...

Surely having Haddrill & Hayden back would be worth 1 goal saved a game.

Having a fit Hase to get just one centre clearance a game that goes straight to goal would be worth another.

That was one thing that was conspicuous by it's rarity in 2005 was the 2 or 3 possesion goal from the middle , something that we got a cheap goal from just about every game in 2003 from.

Maybe RIP but I noticed many times throughout the season that we lost about 3-4 goals a game because we just fumbled, made a skill error under no pressure. Just basic mistakes. It's more or less just an off season of nothing but fitness and, to use a cliche, "getting back to basics" we should be able to be 2 goals better a game. If Harvey and Connolly can do that and toughen up some of the players I'll sing their praises but until then I have to see those results. We SHOULD be Top 4 this season. No ifs, buts or maybes, we should be Top 4 or at the utmost least Top 6.
