Another problem...

Mobbers... I've faced another problem regarding Qooty. I first started off with my first match, which went well perfectly (as all the stats, the votes and results showed). However, when I simulated my second footy game, it finished quite strangley. When the siern noise rang, the program quicky went to the stats screen, but a second after that, an error popped up saying "Bad commnad or file name" or something like that. Turns out that I ended up in a Qbasic blue screen, inside the file "Game".

I tried playing the 2nd game again, but then it did the same thing, only to come up with an error called "Overflow". What's going on Mobbers? Is there any way to fix this?

That's a difficult one ... it depends where in the program it hit trouble ... can you tell me what line was highlighted in the source code?

Yep...

Another time I run a game (again) after the successful first one, it dropped me to a QBasic blue screen (Game.bas), where it said "Bad file name".

Turns out that this was highlighted:

6950 OPEN "O", #1, PATH$ + "\" + LEAGUE$(1) + "\GAMES" + WG$

Okay,

It's happening when the program tries to save game stats for later retrieval.

There's three things that could be wrong :
1. The original path, probably not r you wouldn't be able to play the game in the first place.
2. The league name, same as with point 1.
3. The game name, which is normally in format CARCOL02.00S
CAR=Carlton (or whoever)
COL=Collingwood (or whoever)
02=Year (as long as your computer has a date, it'll work)
00=Round number (00 if config has NOT been set)
S=Grade (S means senior, you can choose that at the start menu)

It's probably in point 3 somewhere.

You can try this :
Insert a line before the error line which says :
PRINT PATH$ + "\" + LEAGUE$(1) + "\GAMES\" + WG$

Then run the game.
When the error comes up, close the error message.
Then press F4 (function key)
It'll take you back to the game at the point where it fell over.
It should also now show you the path it was trying to save the game to, and as.
See if you can see why it won't work, and, if not, retype the text of that path here for me to check out for you.

Lost...

I tired typing the line you provided before the error, and pressed F4. It did come back to the stats screen, but when I came back to the QBasic screen, the original error line was still high-lighted? Basically, it did not change? Maybe I have done something wrong? If not, is there any other options?

Yeah, either rerun the game ... OR
place your cursor on the new line, type Alt-D, then N, then press F5
