Where/when did you see Mudvayne???? and why were you disappointed?

I saw them at the Arena in Brisbane in 05 and it was a damn enjoyable show despite the fact i'm not a huge fan....as a result I bought a ticket to 06 BDO at the Gold Coast (basically because Mudvayne were there) only to see them go off after 10 minutes due to technical difficulties I believe, which ruined my whole day.

Just curious as to your thoughts. They don't seem to be a very tight live outfit cuz they fcked up numerous songs at the Brisbane show i saw.

Saw them at the Palace Melbourne last year. a) Have been disapointed by their recorded output since LD50 (which I consider to be an absolute all time Heavy music classic). TEOATTC was pretty good, but the last album is pretty weak IMO. b) I have their live DVD, Live in Peoria, which is intense, and amazing (it's from their LD50 tour). When I saw them, they were NOWHERE near that level of intensity. They were nowhere near loud enough, and they played alot of songs slower than the original. They seem to be a different band now than they were on the LD50 album and tour. They even LOOK different!!

I have Live In Peoria too and come to think of it they weren't that intense when I saw them in Brissy either. I might go watch that now actually;)

Cracker of a thread bump. I assume by now you got to see the drones? I've seen them about 4 times now, fav time was at the gov after Havilah came out. As usual, a lot of the time enjoying a live gig is 50% band/50% you. As such, my list is based not so much on best band performance, but how much i enjoyed it at the time:

Les Savy Fav - Jive '06 with the Hold Steady
Dillinger Escape Plan - Fowlers '04 seen these guys a few times but the first one smashed it for me. i remember having a massive footprint in my back from someone (presumably) trying to take a speccy
Refused - Thebby '12 absolutely loved it. didn't think i'd ever get to see refused but there they were.
GWAR/Dropkick Murphys/NOFX/everything else at no sleep til festival - this show really hit the sweet spot for me. Had an amazing time.
Les Savy Fav - The Corner '04 - my 21st birthday. amazing.
****ed Up - Soundwave '13 - was dying to see these guys with a small crowd. brilliant
Kvelertak - Fowlers '13 - i had gastro leading up to it but these guys plugged me up. was excellent.
Slipknot - Thebby '99 - special mention as it was my first concernt and my ears were ringing for 3 days

Most disappointing for me has been Converge - every time i've seen them. Probably my favourite band of all time and their live shows have been good, but they didn't quite seem to live up to the same brutal intensity of the albums.

Haha wow massive bump.

Yep saw the Drones at either Meredith or Golden Plains (forgot which one) and they were great.

Have seen Boris three times and they've been unbelievable each time - saw them play Feedbacker the first time, second time was more of a punk oriented gig, third time they played Flood - absolutely brilliant I love those guys (and gal).

Saw Tool again a couple of times since and they're always great but they need some new material dammit.

Sunn 0)))) was horrible to the point where I just left. They played a gig with Boris at the HiFi Bar and had a wall of speakers on the stage. I think they played one bass note for 20 minutes - I get the concept of it but I felt like my inner ear was going to vibrate out of my head. I also saw Om at the HiFi bar which was pretty good though I went with my cousin who had no idea who or what they were and he lefty during the first song.

I've also seen Melvins a couple more times since then at Ding Dong Lounge where they played Houdini and also at the Palais which was a great show. A bit uncomfortable for the guys who were trying to mosh though.

I also saw Chris Cornell's acoustic gig a couple of years back and again a couple of weeks back. I'm not a massive fan of his but I went along with my wife as she loves him and I was really impressed. He's got great vocals and a really good rapport with the crowd.

Other gigs I've seen since are Kyuss & NIN at Metro (separate times) and One Day As A Lion at Prince of Wales.

Still yet to see Metallica and if RATM ever reform/tour that's on the bucket list. Otherwise there's not many other well known bands I think I need to see.
