Carlton
With our lack of depth in the key position area, would Carlton entertain the idea of drafting Chad Cornes next year. Obviously certain boxes would have to be ticked before even considering it- Port going for youth, medical issues, price etc. I have always rated him as a player, have no idea what he is like off the field though. If he is not required at Port next year, we wouldn't have to give up anything to get him. How I think he would improve our team is that he is capable of playing CHB which will help the likes of Jamison and Bower in match ups. It would allow the MC to play Waite in more dangerous positions, instead off moving back and forth throughout games. Henderson would not have to be moved to the backline to shore up the defence. He will be 31 in November so he may have 2 years left in the game. I'm not usually in to short term fixes but I feel it may bring long term gain to the above mentioned players in developing their games. People may say what about Austin, White etc, but as this season has shown, you can never have too many KPP.

PS: Then make a play for his brother.:thumbsu:

Maybe if we recrutied a Pav and were going for the cup in 2011 you dlook at it. But :
Youd look at it if he was delisted or they would accept a pick we didnt plan on using or if they were interested in somone who would be delisted. Other than that he is old and fairl injury plagued.

I would get any elite player who could play another 2 years if it cost us bugger all with late pick and money.Ben Cousins is one i look at.I would take someone like him if he can still play and give some toughness to the group. It could be hard on Scotland although as i couldn't see us playing him if Cornes had his spot.

The injury concern is the most concerning for me.

The Chad is looking for the finish line, not a fresh start. No interest whatsoever in topping up his super.

All for outside the square thinking but this sets a new low

Considering the club was chasing Bradshaw last year, not sure how its a new low.

When fit Bradshaw remains one of the most dominant FF's in the game. Chad on the other hand is no longer an option as a KPF, seems to have lost the pace to be an effective third man-up, and can be run through the middle anymore which added greatly to his value. He's done.

Let's get Fev back, recruit Cornes, Medhurst, Tarrant, Kerr, Cousins and every other player who used to be good, but is now well passed it and have a crack at the flag in 2011.

We may as well change our name to Brisbane while we're at it and make room for another wooden spoon in the cabinet.
