Any tips for Flemington 19/1?

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

A good card for tomorrow. A lot of these however have been racing for a while and may be looking for a spell. The forecast of some rain will also make things tricky.

Race 1 - First starters will dictate the market. No.7 (Mount Everest) seems to be the top pick, and with the recent passing of Edmund Hillary, it may be the omen bet. I don't mind the 10 (Dashalot). Dash for Cash is starting to churn out a few winners and this one may continue the trend. Will be surprised (pleasantly) if it holds the $10 quote.

Tip - 10. Dashalot

Race 2 - Manna Miss (No.1) has been up for a while now which is a query. The 2kg claim will help but I think the winner will come for the 2 or the 4. Good win by Impinge (No.4) at the Valley last Friday night and given the 4kg weight pull against the 4 should see it salute.

Tip - 4. Impinge

Race 3 - Nice little sprint race here with some interesting form. Pedrillo (No.2) has a good strike rate and beat the consistent Mistake Creek last start. The weight rise from 53.5kg to 58kg is a query. Appian Way (No.5) is a distance lover but hard to catch given it's won only 7 times in 73 starts. Big query is the 12 (Baron Park who is out of Viscount. First run in Melbourne after 3 placings (1 win & 2 seconds) in NSW, albeit in early 2007.

Tip - 2. Pedrillo

Race 4 - Tough race. Don't mind one at good each-way odds here, Spirited Halo (No.2). Out of Bel Esprit and has a good strike rate, 5 placings in 7 starts. Viatorian (No.3) is a threat given that it ran second (4 lengths mid you) to Weekend Hustler in the spring.

Tip - 2. Spirited Halo

Race 5 - Very keen on the 8 here, Road to Athens. Great run lst start against Gallopin (who will be in Cup consideration later this year). Only finished a short half head behind the other danger No.2 Tails of Triomphe but meets him 1.5kg better off.

Tip - 8. Road to Athens

Race 6 - Like the 8 here, Publishing. Only query is the draw but the 54.5kg suits. Has won 3 races at or around the distance. Cargo Cult (No.5) is in good form and a definate threat as is Royal Ida (No.2).

Tip - 8. Publishing

Race 7 - Another good little sprint race with the exciting Bel Mer (No.7) looking to continue its great form. Can't really see anything getting close to it honestly. Will be my 1-out in the quaddie to enable me to go wider in the first two legs.

Tip - 7. Bel Mer

Race 8 - We round off the card with a good mile race and a battle between King Johannes (No.2) and SoReadyForSpring (No.11). The King gets a 3kg claim but unsure if that will be enough to get the chocolates. The 11 is the smart tip but will be short. One at nice odds is Poised to Win (No.4)and should handle the conditions if it gets a bit wet.

Tip - 11. SoReadyForSpring

Early quaddie numbers - 2,5,7,8 / 2,4,8,12,13 / 7 / 2,4,11
$60 for the unit

Good punting lads

few favs there in your selections!!

just one criticism.....out of viscount, and out of bel esprit.....in breeding terms " out of " is regarding the dam side!! you should be saying " by " when referring to the sire which in these cases its by viscount or bel esprit

  • pedrillo won on a ridiculously wet track last start, and as you pointed out, the rise in weight is no help. im prepared to lay it!!
  • road to athens, almost garunteed to get a place, has it forgotten how to win??

I'll stick with Larson again. Just keeps going around at good odds. Also will have a little each-way look at White Phosphorus in the 4th.

Ok here are my tips, but if it rains too much then discount the lot of them.

Race 1 - Ahh the 2 year old sprint. Anything could win this really, but i do like the look of Joyful Warrior

Race 2 - Britomart, a class horse and 2000 will be ideal for her.

Race 3 - Hmm tough one, maybe Kings Farewell, or Appian Way who has drawn the fence.

Race 4 - Viatorian

Race 5 - Road To Athens

Race 6 - Good race. I reckon Royal Ida just ahead of Snort and Cargo Cult

Race 7 - Bel Mer is all class, and will be hard to beat, but i reckon that La Chasseuse could do it

Race 8 - Liking Soreadyforspring here

Alright here is my quaddie

8/1,2,4,6,7,9,13/4,7,8/2,6,11

And one horse i like tomorrow is running at Toowoomba in race 4.
Altaica ran well at Doomben last week, started at $40 and was two lengths last coming around the turn but ran on beautifully through the field to come second.

Would be a big chance here.

R1 - Mount Everest - by buzz 2yo Sire Exceed and Excel, the dam Legible is by Zabeel and was very good in her own right.

R2 - Ladies in Luck - my first speculative bet of the day, has solid form around multiple city winners Carrigan/Sensational Toy/Kindrate and the step up in distance may be what she needs. I like Britomart and was on last start, but she never backs up well and doesnt overly appreciate extra distance!

R3 - Baron Park - weak race, I'll go for Hayes/Willo here with the ex-Sydney horse - has great form.

R4 - Viatorian - This one is a gun, its a shame that there wont be any decent odds on offer though.

R5 - Tails of Triomphe - reproduce the Bagot run and will go close.

R6 - Snort - I think he can finally make it two in a row, S Murphy stays aboard when you suspect he could have gone for Publishing too.

R7 - Penceleron - think it might finally be the day for it, has been knocking on the door

R7 - Correct Amoondo - I think you can have it and Lauras Charm as your last leg of the quaddie

R6 - Snort - I think he can finally make it two in a row, S Murphy stays aboard when you suspect he could have gone for Publishing too.

Your gamer than me, 2 in a row, Snort

I'll stick with Cargo Cult, each way.
Many of these are drawn poorly, & although the Flemington 1400m start has changed a little its still deadly on wide barriers.

my tips

r1- DASHALOT
r2- WIND AND WATER eachway
r3- ELECTROSTATIC* special
r4- VIATORIAN
r5- NINE WIVES will be running on hard, distance looks right
r6- PURPLE CHOCOLATE
r7- MESSAGE BANK eachway
r8- FOREST KNIGHT look 4 a huge first up run eachway.

Goodluck guys

I had an alright day, only 2 bets. One on Britomart and the other a quaddie.
As you can see I got pretty close as usual but missed out in the Stickpin leg. I could have done alright if I had used my quaddie selections as bets.
