I'm talking about the Bulldogs and their insipid performance against West Coast. Granted West Coast are flying but how the hell did that team kick 20 odd goals against us last week:eek: Yes we were poor for most of the first half and they love the Dome and are full of front runners when they get on top. But no effing way should that side kick 20 plus goals against our current team full stop.

Confidence is an amazing thing as is momentum.... we gave them both in spades during the first qtr. Once they were up and going.... well we saw the result. I'm far more interested with how we responded last night and how we go next week. We simply must win and hopefully well against a poor side.... pity it isn't here.

Bullies were absolutely primed after being hammered by the media all week. They were always gonna be up for the game against us!

That's the Bullies problem.
They are always up for us and not anyone else.
That Murphy goal was the sealer.
Had that been a point and we got the next goal to make it just over a goal the difference, the crowd would've rose and the players lifted.
I blame that tinny goal.

1. They played their best by far for the year against us on the back of 'season defining game' hype. All their other games they've been hopeless.

2. We let them do as they pleased in the first quarter and then they went on with it.

3. The lead was built with insane accuracy and this helped their confidence.

4. West Coast are a machine.

a couple of things

the bullies are a bunch of front running softies who can go to town on sides when they're winning it in the clinches.

as good as we are with our ball movement and overlap our defensive pressure stinks and is below average.

The doggies dont respect us, fear us or like us - re Griffens comments a few years ago believe me their views havent changed - we need to change them next time we play them and give them a right royal wipping they wont forget in a hurry.

Last week was a game we let slip - dogs are shot and not much chop. We gave them a cheap 50pt headstart and paid for it.

It was the perfect storm

We'd won 3 in a row and were getting all the media puff pieces perhaps too confident

They'd lost 3 in a row and were getting all the media criticism and were extremely desperate

They were primed to win and we were primed to lose, just like how Essendon were really vulnerable this week and we won.

think you guys have summed it all up was a combination of all the factors

- was a do or die game for them last week

- they are front runners and richmond allowed them to get in front

-richmond are not great at the dome
- doggies are great at the dome because they are slow
- get out to subi and their lack of pace is shown

alot of their very avearge players had the game of their life last week, plus alot of richmonds players were down.

i think last week was a blip.

I was thinking exactly the same thing and was going to start a thread too. Makes me really angry thinking back to last week and allowing this bulldog rabble to embarrass us in the first qtr. Gillbee goes from chocolates to boiled lollies in the space of a week. Wish we could replay them next week. :thumbsd:

Not a massive surprise although the margin was out of control.
Last week after quarter time both coaches boxes must have been horrified at the ease in which each side were clearing out of the middle and scoring.
I'm glad it wasn't us playing the Eagles that's for sure.
I'm positive we wouldn't have pit the cue in the rack like the dogs but we wouldve been in serious trouble.

Exactly this. Not to mention our team seems to match up really poorly against them, it feels like they are a bogey side for us.

I agree with most of the reasons listed above but don't tell me there isn't something wrong between Rocket and the players. Either they go or he goes. A 20 goal lost to last years wooden spooner. How the mighty have fallen ! Get the Dogs and Saints to play for the 2011 Fallen Cup.

This might some it all up. I said it last week, they pulled one out of their arses and the reality hit with the following player and his stats from yesterday:
Lindsay Gilbee - 4 kicks 4 handballs 8 disposals 1 mark 4 tackles 0 goals 0 behinds

The end. ;)

You know i was prepared to sheet the blame upon 'over confidence' by a young inexperience side after some good wins...:o...

But after reading your post...you've convinced me otherwise...

....that dammm tinny goal!!!...:p:D....
