The only thing Pavlich has over Riewoldt is almost two complete seasons of football. I'm pretty sure if you were to do a statistical comparison of the two they'd be pretty even. TBH, I couldn't split the two if I was to choose.

He's right. Statistically, they come out pretty even.

The only glaring differences in 2007 were that Riewoldt received 20 more free kicks and Pavlich kicked 30 more goals. Minor details, really.:) Riewoldt spends too much time too far away from goal to be dangerous. He's an extremely talented footballer, but if he's going to play out his career as he did in 2007, he belongs in comparisons with the Ashley Hansen's and Ryan O'Keefe's of the AFL who play similarly.

About 10 of those must have been from Steven Dodd giving him nasty looks in the game at Subi. Reiwoldt is one of the most overrated players in the AFL.

What a pathetic thread.

It's a sad indictment when you need to run off and get some mates to help you out because the big bad Saints supporter said something nasty about you (actually it wasn't that nasty at all).

Probably an accurate reflection though on the club you support.

You're right - it's hard for us Freo supporters to deal with the success of teams like St Kilda, what is it, one flag in 100 years??

I have to disagree with you. Pavlich always stands up when he's needed (Remember 2 or 3 years ago in Adelaide? We were something like 44 points down at 3/4 time, and Pav stood up and kicked something like 7 goals in total to only lose the game by 2 points). Reiwoldt is ok, but he needs to be more consistant, however, the same could be said about Franklin.

How the hell is Pavlich a bully?

I remember that Adelaide game specifically, and I remember the Prelim final the Dockers played in 2006 (that club's biggest ever game). Pavlich certainly didn't go missing in those games, and I don't remember him going missing in too many others.

He called him a flat-track bully. It's a cricket reference that is used to downplay the record of a batsman by insinuating that most of his runs were scored on flat pitches which are easy to score on. Basically he is insinuating that Pavlich kicks bags against dud opponents and when Freo are flying, but not when Freo are down, or he is up against a Glass/Scarlett etc.

If you want me to continue this dicussion take it to the thread on the main board.

It's gutless trolling me (& St Kilda) on this board.

hehe give it your best going on what you wrote before + other things i have read of yours i will struggle to even take you with a pinch of salt.

From memory, there has been one, and that was against Port in 05. I donno why, but the moment I got home from work I got really mad with him for not playing a good game and making us lose. Hey, I was only 16...

Ohh...ok. Well that kinda makes sense now. Isn't that what people liken Des Headland to though? A player who goes missing in big games?

(Riewoldt had) 45-10 in terms of frees for and against in 2007,

Can anyone spell protected species?

If Pav got the same love from the umps as they give their golden haired love child he'd easily crack the ton.

The top 3 free kick winners in 2007 were Kerr, Corey and Jude Bolton. Hardly surprising considering where those guys play and how they go about it.

Riewoldt came in at #4, but his FF/FA ratio and total number of FF when compared to the other key forwards really stands out. Granted he plays in front most of the time and has his arms chopped a lot, but what key forward doesn't?

If I had to take any Docker player it would be Pav in a Heart beat.

Pav is far more consistent than Reiwolt. Not to mention Reiwolt couldnt kick a goal to save his own life.

1 flag in 110 years, plus an amazing 26 wooden spoons :o

*Edit* JeffDunne is one of the biggest imbeciles I have had the misfortune to notice on the Internet, some of the comments he made on the injuries to Jeff Farmer in the Baker incident were disgraceful, showing what a ghastly human he is . .
