In my opinion apathy is far worse than anger when it comes to competitive sport.
At least with anger, the passion is still there.
With apathy, you lose the passion.
How many posters are apathetic about our current season and how many are angry?
Dumping chicken crap at Punt Rd was a display of anger. While it was immature and purile, it at least had passion behind it.
So many fellow supporters have just checked out now.
And yes I know, #eco and all that, but it's a serious issue.
I know a lot are probably both angry and apathetic, but choose only one.

I want both Tugga so I'm not voting. Sorry Champ.
Angry bc nothing was done three years ago and apathetic bc of the outcome.
we are all probably both. But I want to know the one that overrides the other.

I'm furious with where the club is at, but there's an underlying apathy because the longer this goes on, the more it appears that the spineless board won't act no matter what happens, so what's the point in caring?

I'm a 20 year member who won't be renewing if Hardwick isn't thrown out the door, but that's the extent of a statement I can make.

Severe apathy leads to #eco Tugga-sun

#twomoreyears

#eco
I would say just apathy leads to eco. Doesn't need to be severe.

I am upset at just how we have let ourselves down after the past 3 seasons, I would say a fair amount of us get grief for being a Richmond supporters - and this year it will be just worse over summer. Rare positives have come from this season and to think I had us a chance this year to be a contender. I still hope that the window isn't closed because I reckon this time next year - we might just be on the opposite feeling to what we are now!

I can say I am apathetic at the moment. For the past two weeks I think I have watched probably a quarter and a half of football. Housework seemed a more attractive option. I am in my 50's so I have a feeling a deja vu so I just want to ignore it all now. However I am interested in other supporter's views and have come on here on a number of occasions to have a look.

I actually said to my sons on Saturday. If you want to barrack for someone else go ahead. I was actually not joking.

My apathy is not just about Richmond but the running of the AFL in general. Unfair concessions to some clubs and games decided on the back of horrendous umpiring decisions. I just think, "Meh" now. I don't think I will be watching the finals series at all. Last year I took my son to the pool on grand final day. Just over it all and now with the Tigers I am almost at the point of not caring.

BTW what does #eco mean????? :drunk:

Yes you are right. It is the same as when you are in a relationship. For me when I got to the stage when my ex-boyfriend wanted to escort his close female friend home and I did not even care, I knew it was over.

Apathy.

Watched the Tigers for the first time in months on Saturday.
Just not interested in investing time, money and love and getting nothing in return.

As the former great Melbourne band would say: 'I'm interested in apathy'.
Apathy for me, Tugga.
As you know from other circles we mix in, I actually predicted us to finish somewhere from 10th-12th this season. Our current 13th is it (?????), is even below that expectation, but I am neither here nor there about it, even though my prediction fuelled quite a bit of derision and backlash inthose circles - so be it. I could see us going backwards at a rate of knots under this coach (who I have maintained for four years now is both poor in the coaching box and in his preparation ..... he has brought other traits to the table that have been pluses, no denying it). And I just don't rate our list outside our top tier. We could very well have the best top five group of players in the league, but it falls away quickly and has for several reasons. I admit to being more cynical than most, but I also question more than most. As Jon Ralph posed the question today: The club keeps raving about its past two drafts, but who is the next A-grade star apart from the top five on this list? Fair point. Whether we pick at pick 1, 3, 7, 12, 16 or 18 - your first round pick needs to be a star or thereabouts. They can't be B. Ellis or Conca fair to good; or Lennon nowhere near fair right now. We at Richmond accept somewhere 'close enough'. But I find myself less inclined to make the trek to Melbourne to see a game and once where I would have headed to the nearest pub to watch the GWS game or even Essendon game, I went to the local footy instead (GWS) or headed interstate to SA (Essendon) for the other. They just don't give me a reason to want to care, which after 40 years as a member is rather sad.
To put it in perspective, while living in Melbourne, I never missed a game in the 80s and early-mid 90s. There were some pretty horrid years under Jewell (second time around), KB, Jeans and early Northey, but I never found a reason not to go and felt a real attachment with the club and playing group. But I don't with this lot. We could get smashed by Essendon or Carlton by 100 points, but you saw hope in a developing Knights, Lambert, Campbell, Maxfield, Turner, even Stuart Edwards and you had to be there to see them, hopefully - inch by inch - improve the next week. Of course some didn't make it, so you would find yourself tracking their progress at Port Melbourne or suburban level after leaving. But no more. I was glad to see Markov's debut a few weeks back live and hold hope he might be a good'un. But this current crop and especially people running/ruining the club no longer inspires. I had to check the fixture last night to find out who we were playing next week. Tells you plenty. Three years ago I could reel our round 1-23 opponents off the top of my head.

Went to the Dees Suns game yday. Lots of angry Dees supporters fired up about their team's shit performance.

I was jealous. At least they can still care enough to be angry.

Its all anger here.

72k paying members and the many more fans expect and deserve better than what we've been promised this year.

Hopefully 72k members vote to unpeg the club from mediocrity.

Apathy here. Been burnt too many times, they made promises about not half arsing things when Hardwick took over and look where we are. Saturday was one of the most insipid disgraceful displays I've seen from a Richmond side and I sat through the garbage of the 80's and beyond. Getting angry with this club is a waste of energy. I got angry for years...decades actually. No more. I have zero faith in the coach, his staff and the board. There's something rotten at the club and it's been that way for decades. I'll love the club until the day I die but they've ****ed me over too many times now. If Hardwick's still there I won't be renewing killing off nearly 25 consecutive years. I'll donate the money to a charity.
